'Midsommar' Movie Preview
Young director Ari Aster sprang onto the scene with 2018's Hereditary, a genuinely scary horror film that was one of the years most talked about. What made it even more of an achievement was that Hereditary was his feature debut after a few short films: The Strange Thing About The Johnsons (2011) and Munchausen (2013).

Escaping the Cage
Marbella Ashbrooke had been given the duty of watching her younger sister that day but as usual, Luciella had wandered off after playing in the kitchen garden. Marbella rushed to the gate at the far end of the wall, heart pounding as she shot out into the bright evening sunlight. This wasn't the first time Luciella had vanished but something felt different. Even Lady Ashbrook, a woman not given to panic or nervousness, had all but thrown her younger children to the maids and raced out to join the search. When Marbella had sent a nursemaid back to the bower to report Luciella's escape, Lady Judith had gone wild with worry exclaiming how she had known something was wrong before the maid entered. Father had pulled together every available man, woman, and teenager to search for the girl who had been happily playing at midday and was now nowhere to be seen in the fading light. A small army of people were now racing around the manor and its grounds, striking Marbella like the nymphs and sprites from her books as they darted back and forth. Long shadows had begun to stretch across the grounds from the forest beyond the house and the air had become so tense that Marbella found it hard to breathe.

My Analysis of 'The Shining'
Today, I want to share my fascination for the movie The Shining, which talks to me on so many levels, with its haunting setting, tormented characters and countless hidden messages. This is my interpretation of the story and I completely understand that some or most of you may disagree with the way I see this movie, how it made me feel and the lessons I learnt by watching it numerous times.

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'The Intruder Within' (1981)
Look at that retro 70s-80s VHS cover art! Look at that hammy rubber monster mark. That shit was straight outta Fangoria! And I thought Xtro II was hard to find. Again I had to use an alternative search function to pull up the IMDb archive page, and even deeper to find the full movie (which had subtitles in three different languages). I kept getting error messages trying to bring the page up on IMDb. It's probably so deeply archived there's some lone external hard drive somewhere that likely had to power up when their server tried to get the info.

Ghostly Spirits in Virginia
The Berkeley Plantation Mansion is located in Charles City, Virginia near the James River. The mansion has three stories, and is built of brick. The mansion is now a museum. It is interesting to see the inside of this beautiful house where the woodwork was done by Benjamin Harrison IV, with advice from his friend, Thomas Jefferson. 18th-century furnishings adorn the house. There are five terraced gardens that were created during the Revolutionary War, and lead down to the James River.

A Nuclear Horror
It is the TV show capturing the horrifying events which accumulated in the worst nuclear disaster in history—Chernobyl. But perhaps what is most frightening of all, is this TV show, now regarded as the greatest ever made, tells the story of a real-life disaster which proves fiction isn’t always as terrifying as fact.

A Creature from My Dreams
I don't know how long ago I had this dream, but I can still remember a great deal of it so vividly. I was a male in the army, in a movie. The team and I had been assigned to fight something and we had ended up in some sort of tunnel. I can't remember what the commander of the operation told us, we just did as we were told. So we entered the tunnel and the deeper we got, the tunnel that had led underground seemed to turn into a hallway, then a large building. Inside, the building was built like a maze and the lights were flashing. It was so blinding I needed to squint to even remotely see. We carried on with the operation but began to hear the oddest sounds. The place had some sort of seaweed like plants hanging down from the ceiling and something like chicken wire ripped to shreds and just plastered to the sides of the maze so every once in a while one of us would walk into the metal or into the weird plants. We didn't get harmed by anything hanging from the ceiling but the sounds from something we assumed was a dying animal continued to increase. Then the sounds multiplied. We knew it wasn't a dying animal and I know at least I felt a feeling of dread and something else I couldn't describe even now. I just knew I wanted to run out of this maze-like place and get out. So I started running, leading my pack anywhere that seemed like it would lead to an exit. A few times we came to a dead end and had to backtrack. Some of us were killed. I think I was one of them. I had been very close to this square-like exit.

Five Takeaways from First Trailer for '47 Meters Down: Uncaged'
47 Meters Down was a shocking and surprising hit movie in 2017 that appeared to arrive out of absolutely nowhere. The film starring a pre-This is Us Mandy Moore, alongside Clair Holt as young sisters trapped in a shark cage while on a fantasy vacation, was made on a shoestring, $6 million dollar budget, went on to gross more than $61 million dollars worldwide. Naturally, despite an ending that doesn’t exactly tease a sequel, producers are eager to capitalize on the hit.
