The Shadow of Pulwama: A Soldier’s Ultimate Sacrifice
Terror Atack on Soldier at Pulawama true story

The winter chill still lingered in the air of Pulwama Valley, Jammu & Kashmir.
Dark clouds covered the sky, as if nature itself was warning of an impending tragedy.
A convoy of CRPF soldiers was making its way from Jammu to Srinagar.
But this was no ordinary day this was the day when brave Indian soldiers laid down their lives, yet became immortal in the hearts of their countrymen.
The Beginning of the Story
Major Vijay Thapa, a courageous officer of CRPF’s 76th Battalion, was seated in one of the convoy’s buses.
His eyes shone with the fire of patriotism and duty.
Beside him sat Havildar Rajesh Kumar, repeatedly looking at a picture of his family.
His wife and two children’s smiling faces filled his heart with warmth and pride.
Sir, we’ll reach Srinagar by evening,» Rajesh said to Major Thapa.
Yes, Rajesh.
But this route is always risky.
We must stay alert, the Major replied.
The Devastating Moment
At around 3:30 PM, as the convoy passed through Lethpora, Pulwama, a massive explosion shook the ground.
A suicide bomber had rammed his vehicle full of explosives into a CRPF bus.
The blast was so powerful that trees and buildings nearby trembled.
Flames shot up into the sky, turning it a fiery red.
Upon hearing the explosion, Major Thapa swiftly commanded everyone to seek shelter and assist the wounded. However, before any action could be taken, another explosion occurred, causing even more devastation as it tore through the bus. The scene was chaotic, filled with smoke, flames, and the anguished cries of injured soldiers.
In the midst of this chaos, Havildar Rajesh Kumar, severely wounded and losing blood, clung to consciousness. In his dimming sight, he focused on a cherished image - his family's photograph. The smiles of his children and the last words of his wife, urging him to return safely, reverberated in his mind. Turning to Major Thapa, who was also injured but determined to save his comrades, Rajesh mustered his strength to convey his final wish: for the officer to look after his family.
Moved by Rajesh's request, Major Thapa, holding back tears, acknowledged the soldier's bravery and assured him that his sacrifice would not be forgotten.
Despite his own injuries, Major Thapa persisted in rescuing his men, using shreds of his uniform to tend to the wounded. Enduring physical pain, his unwavering dedication to his country drove him forward. In a moment of peril, he confronted an approaching terrorist, swiftly drawing his pistol and firing. The assailant retaliated before Major Thapa could take another shot.
With valor and determination, Major Thapa fought until his last breath, a faint smile of resolve on his face.
In honor of the Soldier who Sacrificed his Life
The soldier was like the moon to his mother,
A source of pride for his nation,
Considered a gift from a higher power,
And the essence of many lives.
His presence radiated with immense honor,
His father held his head high with pride,
His mother prayed with tearful eyes,
Every breath he took was for the nation's cause.
When he softly uttered "Vande Mataram",
The sound traveled far beyond the borders,
Even the sky wept silently,
As he embarked on his final battle.
Now he rests in the comforting embrace of the earth,
The moon continues to watch over him,
The wind carries the melodies of his bravery,
A soldier's legacy that will endure.
Oh martyr, you will always be remembered,
The pulse of this land running through every vein,
Your light will illuminate every path,
The world celebrates a hero's valor!
Victory to India! Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
