The Story of Om Banna: A Miracle of the Royal Enfield

Thakur Om Singh, born on March 5, 1965, in Chotila village of Pali, was the son of Jog Singh Rathore. In Rajasthan, Rajputs are often called "Banna Sa," and that's why Om Singh was also affectionately known as Om Banna.

Om Banna was the only son of Jog Singh Rathore, which made him the beloved child of the family. Whatever he desired, he was always granted. From a young age, Om Banna had a keen interest in bikes, and as he grew older, he bought a Royal Enfield. He loved his bike dearly and spent most of his time riding it. After some time, Om Banna got married, and his in-laws lived close to his village. So, he would often take his wife on the bike to visit them.

On December 2, 1988, Om Banna was returning from his in-laws' house in the evening when tragedy struck. The road was completely empty, and he was speeding on his bike. Suddenly, he approached a sharp turn, and his bike skidded, leading to a fatal accident on the spot. The next day, when the police arrived at the scene, they concluded that it was an accident. They took his body home and seized his bike, taking it to the police station.

The Mysterious Disappearance of the Bike

The next day, when the police officers arrived at the station, they were shocked to find that Om Banna's bike was missing. The officers were bewildered about where the bike had gone. They assumed it was stolen and reported the theft to all nearby police stations.

Soon after, the police received information that a bike, with the registration number RNJ 7773, was found abandoned near Chotila village on the Jodhpur-Pali Highway. It was Om Banna's bike. Officers went to the location and brought the bike back to the station. However, the next day, just as before, the bike disappeared again. After some time, it was found again at the very spot where Om Banna had met with the accident. The police were now confused and suspected that someone was playing a prank on them.

In frustration, the police drained all the petrol from the bike and chained it securely. Yet, the next day, the same thing happened: the bike was missing again.

The Miracle and the Shrine

This strange incident repeated many times, and soon, news spread throughout the surrounding areas. People began to believe that this was a miracle, and many claimed that the spirit of Om Banna was haunting the place. When Om Banna's family heard about this, they decided to build a memorial at the site of the accident in his name and placed the bike there. After this, the bike never disappeared again.

Over time, the memorial became a place of worship. People from far and wide began visiting the site, not to pray to a deity, but to offer their respects to Om Banna's bike. It became a unique shrine where people would worship the Royal Enfield.

Since then, anyone passing through the Jodhpur-Pali Highway makes sure to stop and pay their respects to Om Banna's bike. It’s not just a memorial, but a sacred place where many believe that the spirit of Om Banna continues to live on.
