The Forgotten History of the Asian Americans❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️

My Japanese uncle, Norman, once took me to J-Town or Little Toyko close to downtown Los Angeles because he knew I loved to read and hated what I was being taught in school

However, he told me I was reading the wrong books because I do not know how the Chinese and Japanese were treated; indeed, I spent about eight to twelve hours a day reading, hanging out with sex worker, reading at Santa Monica Beach during the days.

Chinese American were lynched, tortured, and mutilated in Chinatown Race Riot in Los Angeles where I went to watch Bruce Lee kung fu films and eat Dim Sum afterwards on weekends as a kid because two Tong gangs fought each other and innocent people were killed.

Chinatown was burnt down, and the riot occurred where Asian Americans were not allowed to legally testify against any white swho killed Asians because there were thought to be rats.

Japanese Concentration Camps: “Man in the High Castle”❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️

My Japanese uncle’s family was sent to Concentration Camps during World War II, for that is what the US government called them. Later they renamed them as Internment camps to lie about history. His family lost all their property.

Because of my uncle, my favorite thing in Los Angeles to do was taking the bus and going to university used book stores, for they had the most amazing books, especially science fiction.

I found so many Philip K Dick books who wrote about a dystopian California were the Japanese would take over and rule, helping to create a hatred of Asians called “Man in the High Castle.” as the Germany took over Washington DC,

I so loved and enjoyed reading and researching, for I had no friends, no girlfriends, and no one to mentor me; indeed, I hated school, but I loved libraries and book stores.

Therefore, my mother gave me monies to buy books and my uncle would drive me to Japanese town and buy me Japanese and Asian authors, for he knew I loved reading.

He told me that we are taught lies about history, so me shared with me about the Japanese internment camps where his family was sent.

Japanese Americans were thought to be the enemy during World War II and forced into concentration camps in places like Fort Sills, Oklahoma and Arkansas. The first one was shot and killed trying to escape in Oklahoma.

I grew up in Japan and thought I was Japanese, but my mother escaped the hell of North Korea and eventually became a US citizen, so did I.

I also created the first Asian American literature course in Oklahoma, so I know my uncle would be proud. I mss him, for he died years ago in Hawaii. Rest in peace my Japanese American uncle. I love you with all my heart. Rest in Peace. I am coming soon. My cancer is killing me.
