History, Importance, and Significance of Laylat al-Qadar.

Identity and Meaning of Shab-e-Qadr

"Laylat al-Qadr (Arabic: ليلة القدر) is literally known as the" "Night of Glory" "or the" "Night of Destiny."

"Laylatul" means night, and "qadr" means dignity, honor, or taqdeer (destiny).

The Quran also refers to this night as Laylat al-Mubarak (the blessed night) (Surah Ad-Dukhan: 3).

The Qur'an declares:

"Verily, I have revealed this (Qur'an) in the Night of Power. Are you a night owl? Thousand Nights is the best." (Surah al-Qadr 1-3).

The first ohi in the cave of Hera

On the 27th night of the month of Ramadan in 610 AD, the first revelation was made to the Prophet (peace be upon him) in the cave of Hera on Mount Noor in Mecca. The complete Qur'an was revealed in stages over a period of 23 years, beginning with the first 5 verses of Surah Al-Alaq.

The Hadith says:

Jibril (may Allah be pleased with him) said to the Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him): "Recite Iqra." Rasulullah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam replied, "I am not a reader." " (Al-Bukhari: 4953).

The Night of the Decision

According to Islamic aqeedah, on this night, Allah Ta'ala records the fate, death, misfortune, and welfare of the people of the next year to the angels. In Surah Ad-Dukhan it is said:

"Every wise thing is decided on this night. (Surah Ad-Dukhan: 4)

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The birth, death, rain, and harvest of the coming year are all recorded in Laylatul Qadr." (Ibn Abbas).

Although the exact date is kept secret, most scholars consider the night of 27 Ramadan Laylat al-Qadr.

The last word of the Hadith:

"Whoever is deprived of Laylat al-Qadr, he is deprived of all good." (Sunan Ibn Majah: 1644).
