A Colorful World Part One
Taking a look at the colors white, black, gray, brown, and green

Ghostly White
The color white is associated with many different things such as ghosts, snow, and bridal dresses. However, if you think about it white actually wouldn’t even be considered a color if we couldn’t look at it and realize that it’s the white color we are looking at.
Confusing, isn’t it? Well if you looked at a ghost you wouldn’t see white you would see a wisp-like smoke or see right through the spirit. Looking at a blank piece of paper or at a blank Word document on our PC screen we see white.
When white is mentioned I often think of snow but after a long winter when I have gotten tired of seeing white all around I am glad when spring comes around and I can see white flowers instead. It has a great advantage because white can be combined with any color of the rainbow.

My favorite combinations are white and black and white and blue. The most popular combination is white and red which we see on candy canes during Christmas time. The most wonderful and magical white things are the fluffy white clouds in the sky above.

Love the look of white flowers such as daisies which symbolize loyal love and roses which symbolize innocence, purity, and secrecy. Also a lovely white rose I once grew with a yellow center. There are white gemstones that are ruled by the Moon and are known to be associated with psychic energy and sleep. White gemstones also are used by people to give them protection after dark and for good fortune.
White is the color of new beginnings and it holds an equal balance of all of the colors which are in the spectrum. It will give you a feeling of peace and contentment and make you emotionally relaxed. The same as with black there are no other white colors except for various shades of white such as ghostly white, old lace, chalk, and ivory to name a few.

Among white foods. there’s sugar, eggs, pasta, flour, and bread. There are white vegetables such as cauliflower, turnips, white beans, potatoes, and onions. Several types of cheeses such as mozzarella are white and one white food most everyone enjoys sour cream.

The one thing I absolutely can’t resist is a layer cake with white frosting and of course, a dessert topped with whipped cream.

Let’s see what else I can mention. Love white swans when they gracefully swim upon the water. My very favorite white ghost was Casper the Friendly Ghost. I also enjoy seeing wisps of white smoke rise up in the air from bonfires and even though I mentioned them before clouds are really magical when they float through the brilliant blue sky in the spring and summertime making our imagination dance when we see the many different shapes they come in.

Black like Bats
The color black is very fashionable when considering evening clothes. I’ve always associated black with mystery. Some people don’t but I love bats and adore pictures of those winged creatures flying high in the sky.
Black is associated with the nighttime. We all know that the colors of Halloween are black and orange. I love such combinations as red and black, emerald green and black, white and black, gold and black, silver and black, and yellow and black. Some colors which I don’t think go very well with black are brown and blue.

Unfortunately black doesn’t have a very good reputation because it is associated with evil and death but on the good side, it also is associated with elegance, formality, power, and mystery. The velvet black sky at night can look fantastic when the twinkling stars and moon are out and can be quite romantic.

Black shadows can seem scary to some and this color can also make some people feel melancholy. People will feel afraid to find that the lights go out and it’s pitch black all around and when night falls I always think how lucky cats are that they can see in the dark their eyes glowing bright. I have a beautiful black cat named Morticia as you can see in the photo.
The great thing about black is that it can absorb negative energy and so it is good to have something black to carry with you to be protected from negativity and harm while you are traveling or outside your home.
This color is also associated with seduction and sexiness because usually black sexy lingerie is purchased. The one very interesting thing about black is that if you think about it unlike with other colors there are no other black colors or shades. Black is black is black.
There are black gemstones such as onyx which symbolize resilience and self control and they have protective energies.

Finally yes, there are black foods if anyone is wondering. Frightfully different there is black garlic which is an aged variation of garlic and it has twice the antioxidants of the usual garlic. It is sweet and reminds me of molasses.
Squid ink gives the striking result of black pasta. Squid ink has been known to be able to slow cancer growth because it stops the growth of new blood vessels. Black sesame seeds have a large amount of calcium and they are delicious. Black rice contains antioxidants and anthocyanins. It can certainly make a difference in any meal.

Black mushrooms have a compound in them that stimulates the immune system and they have antioxidants that can aid in helping to prevent premature aging and cancer. They have fascinating names such as lion’s mane, hen-of-the-woods, and wild morel.

Black Mission Figs are great summer fruit and go well with cheeses and salads. They offer fiber, manganese, and potassium.

Among my favorite foods are black caviar, black beans, and black olives.

Shades of Gray
Gray makes me think of gray skies and rainy days. I can’t think of too many things when I think of the color gray. I know I love the combinations of gray and green, gray and yellow, gray and red, and gray and white.

Not many people would want to paint rooms brown but you can get it to work for you in other ways such as brown carpeting, furniture, and even draperies. Basically, it is a quiet and unassuming color. Just think of how relaxing it feels to walk along a brown, dirt country road enjoying the sun shining above and the beauty of nature all around.

Soothing Green
As far as I’m concerned give me the color green anytime. It’s the color of spring and summer and it makes me smile. It is the color that provides balance and harmony and is sure to make a nice balance between the heart and emotions thus making our world much more joyful.
Other things that green represents are growth, renewal, and rebirth. If we feel like we can’t take another step look to this color to renew and restore energy and it has to power to relax us and take away all the stress. Another thing that I give a thumbs up to this color is that green is an emotionally positive color and it gives us the possibility to love and nurture ourselves.
