Wrestlepalooza '25: The Insight Breakdown and Predictions

Alright, let's cut the music. It's your man, the only wrestling journalist brave enough to tell you that your favorite superstar probably isn't giving his best efforts in the ring, back with the goods. Wrestlepalooza is this Saturday, September 20th, and I am not going to lie to you people, this card looks like pure fire on paper. From top to bottom, it is stacked with potential show-stealers, a major retirement tour stop, two huge WWE returns, a fresh championship rivalry, and what could be a momentous faction shift. This is the first PLE event for WWE in collaboration with ESPN. The title itself is a cool nod to the original ECW classic, but the WWE spin on it has been must-see TV. Oh, and remember last month when I scored a perfect 100% on my Clash in Paris predictions, so forgive me while I gloat just a little bit. I am just that guy when it comes to reading the tea leaves, and here is exactly how I see Wrestlepalooza going down.
1. Iyo Sky vs. Stephanie Vaquer for the Vacant Women's World Championship

It genuinely breaks my heart that Naomi had to forfeit the championship, as her last run was nothing short of amazing to watch. That being said, this match has all the makings of a classic between two incredibly gifted athletes. I have a strong feeling that we are going to see some outside interference that costs Iyo Sky this match. Specifically, I am predicting that Asuka will get involved, officially kicking off the end of the Kabuki Warriors and Damage CTRL for the second time. This sets up a much bigger program for the future, as Stephanie Vaquer versus Rhea Ripley has a much better ring to it for Wrestlemania 42. Vaquer winning here establishes a powerful new champion and a fresh face at the top of the division. I predict Stephanie Vaquer wins this match and becomes the new Women's World Champion.
2. The Usos vs. The Vision (Bronson Reed & Bron Breakker)

An Uso reunion has everyone talking, but we need to hold onto our hats for this one. This match itself feels like a filler contest designed to set up a much bigger moment on the grand stage. There is simply no way that after winning two major singles championships Jey Uso is just going back to being a tag guy with his brother. I smell a major heel turn brewing that will shock the WWE Universe. I think Jey is about to become a new version of Roman Reigns, a bitter and angry man working out of the regret of losing his gold. His first victim will unfortunately be his own brother, Jimmy Uso. The Vision, being the powerful unit they are, will capitalize on the ensuing chaos. I predict The Vision wins this match after Jey turns on Jimmy.
3. CM Punk & AJ Lee vs. Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch

This has been the most fun story to watch in the entire WWE, with all four competitors radiating pure joy working alongside their real-life spouses. The return of AJ Lee has been nothing short of euphoric for the fans and has brought a special kind of magic back to WWE programming. There is absolutely no chance that a return of this magnitude ends in a loss for the beloved couple. This match is fun but it is also a clear stepping stone to a much larger main event program. A victory here for Punk and Lee gives them immense momentum and continues to build perfectly towards the inevitable CM Punk versus Seth Rollins championship showdown. I predict CM Punk and AJ Lee go over in this match.
4. Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship

The build for this match could have been so much more if Cody Rhodes were not off shooting his role in Street Fighter. Major kudos have to go to Drew McIntyre for single-handedly holding this entire feud together on the mic for the last three weeks. I truly like this rivalry and I was initially very excited to see what these two could do against each other. Unfortunately, the program has not lived up to its full potential due to the inconsistent build. I see no major swerve happening here, as the story does not call for the title to change hands just yet. Cody Rhodes wins this match and will move forward to close out the year as your WWE Champion. He needs a strong, clean victory to solidify this reign after a rocky build.
5. John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar

This match is going to be brutal, bossed up, and all sorts of entertaining for the fans in attendance. I do not know why John Cena would ever agree to a retirement match against a monster like Brock Lesnar. Lesnar is exactly the kind of guy who could send Cena into an early retirement against his will. We all know how this is going to go down between these two legendary competitors. They are going to fight like hell and tell one final, physical chapter in their storied history. This is the perfect kind of high-stakes, violent match to have during John Cena's final run in the company. I predict Brock Lesnar wins this match in one hell of a contest.
The Final Bell From Your Man
So there you have it, the inside track straight from the most valuable voice in the game. Wrestlepalooza promises fireworks, shocking turns, and the kind of moments we will be talking about for months. From a new women’s champion crowned in chaos to a brotherly betrayal that will rock the foundation of the tag division, this event is can’t-miss. We will see legends clash in what might be their final dance and beloved icons continue their triumphant returns. Tune in this Saturday, because in the wild world of the WWE, anything can happen, but you heard it here first. I will see you all on the other side for the fallout.
