Wolf Pack Review: "Origin Point"
The quartet faces Kristin Ramsey's interrogation, and the plot continues to thicken in Episode 3

In a football season, Week 3 can serve as a turning point. Though football is the only sport where literally every game is important, Week 3 locks in tones for certain teams, and separates potential contenders from potential pretenders. When it comes to TV shows, especially serials with (at least) one mystery, Week 3 is when the plot starts to really thicken and things add up, with possible twists on the horizon. This was definitely the case with Paramount+'s Wolf Pack, and after we see a different quartet kick off the latest episode, the scene shifts to our familiar foursome.
Picking up from where we left off in Episode 2, Everett, Blake, Harlan, and Luna in the back of a squad car, as they were facing question regarding the fire. We see Jang order the group to keep quiet, while Ramsey gives a more genial approach. After Blake is on the receiving end of accusations from former friend Phoebe (seriously, we need to know what killed their friendship), the interrogation begins, and it features Ramsey with Everett, who claimed that he and the others were all getting high together. This comes after Everett actually hears Harlan from the other room, but the latter is actually caught by officer Trent Miller, who attempts to push his weight around.
Miller's attempt includes shoving Harlan around and trying to intimidate him with trumped up charges of assaulting an officer, but Garrett appears and sees everything, and he takes all of them out of the station, doing so after Luna informed her father that Everett and Blake were just like herself and Harlan. On the ride home, the big bad werewolf is mentioned; they ask if its their actual birth father. I wish I knew how many viewers do believe it's their actual father, but I'm assuming it's at least 60%. Meanwhile, Ramsey, Juna, and Miller discussed the twins, with Miller being upset that they were allowed to go home. Ramsey's suspicion towards the quartet in regards to the fire? Gone--though she believes they're hiding something else. Miller boasts that he could have had a confession within five minutes, but he receives an ultimatum from Ramsey: if he lays one hand on those teens, he's off the task force.
All the while, Harlan and Luna discuss their powers with their father, we continue to receive some romantic fantasies between Blake and Everett, and as for the aforementioned Phoebe, all of her tires went flat. After Phoebe blasts Blake and accused her of sabotaging her car, Garrett leaves to help her, resulting in the quartet being left on their own to ponder who could be after them.

The group's discussion is interrupted by a familiar voice: Miller. Apparently, Miller decided not to take Ramsey's ultimatum seriously (something tells me he's one of those clowns who doesn't like getting "pushed around" by a woman), and he went to the house to attempt to get the answers he wants. He roughs up Harlan, but at that moment, the werewolf appears and pounces on Miller, and kills him in a later scene. The werewolf returns and moves toward Everett and Blake, getting close to the former of the pair, but later backs off. Luna deduces that all four of them are connected to the creature, and when Garrett returns home, he had some explaining to do. Earlier, Garrett answered the twins' call and told them to get his rifle and the bullets, which were revealed to be silver. Garrett honestly answered any and all questions, revealing that he not only made the bullets, he made them with the intent of killing werewolves (if need be)...even Harlan and Luna.

For any viewers who had Garrett possibly being the big beast, forget it. Garrett Briggs has been quite a fascinating character so far. He stares a huge forest fire in the face, makes it out, and takes the lead when it comes to taking in Everett and Blake. We should get more of a story about Garrett's silver bullets on the following episode, but at this point, Rodrigo Santoro has been killing it as Garrett Briggs on this show. Santoro's earlier credits include appearing in films such as 300 and Love Actually, and he appeared on shows such as Lost and Westworld.
Episode 3, "Origin Point," was released on Paramount+ on February 9, 2023. We are getting close! Yes, Sarah Michelle Gellar's interview stays with me, and I still remember what she said: "By the time you get to Four and Five, you're going to get some twists." That time is one week away! I am still convinced that Kristin Ramsey's the werewolf. She gives Miller that ultimatum, and then out of nowhere, the beast kills him while he's breaking her rules? Yeah, that's no coincidence. Starting next week, business will definitely pick up!
