Tracker Season 2 Episode 10 Ending Explained

Sydney Scotia Examines Angie's Connection To Jim Parrack's Persona & More

By WHB KHNPublished 11 months ago 6 min read

"Nightingale" was the title of Tracker season 2 episode 10, which aired on Sunday, February 23 and included a number of well-known guest stars. "After Colter is hired to find a missing singer linked to a violent crime, he discovers his target is a stoic survivalist, not unlike himself," according to the official synopsis, alludes to Jim Parrack's version of Ben. The actor's most well-known performance was in FOX's 9-1-1: Lone Star as Judd Ryder.

When Sydney Scotia, an emerging musician, vanishes following her performance, authorities suspect that Ben has abducted her. But as the two soon develop an emotional connection, it becomes clear that he is genuinely shielding her. In addition to Fiona Rene, Abby McEnany, and Eric Graise, Justin Hartley plays Colter Shaw in Tracker's main cast.

Zach Bryan's "Something In The Orange" was used by Scotia during her Tracker Season 2 audition.

How did you end up getting involved in Tracker?

Sydney Scotia: Since I texted my agent earlier in October of last year, saying, "I really want to be on Tracker," I feel as though I partially manifested this guest star. I've heard nothing but good things about the show. "Hey, just wanted to put it on your radar," I said, knowing that some people were auditioning for the Vancouver shoot. Is there anything that Tracker has in store for me? Additionally, she says, "I'll keep an eye out."

When an audition for this role came up less than a month later, I kind of put in that I really wanted to try out for the show. At that point, I dropped everything and said, "Okay, I really want to nail this one." Additionally, there was a guitar and singing portion, which I don't often get to do.

I saw in the script that it was Oklahoma Smokeshow, but I was more familiar with Zach Bryan's song Something in the Orange, so I used that for my audition. I recorded that, sent myself a recording of myself singing and playing, and wished for the best. And when I received the call, I was overjoyed. When I received the call, the train was passing by in the New York subway station, and she said, "You booked Tracker."

Scotia thinks that after Tracker Season 2, Episode 10, Angie and Ben developed a lifelong bond.

I was thrilled that you were collaborating with Jim Parrack on this episode because I was also a huge fan of 9-1-1: Lone Star. How did working with him go?

Sydney Scotia: Oh, so nice. He's such a good scene partner. He's so professional and just such a great actor, and I loved watching the episode back because I got to see all of his nuances in the scenes that I wasn't in with him. It's so fun to act with such brilliant actors. He's definitely a career actor, and his resume is just insanely long.

Ben and Angie form a strong bond. Why could she trust him so readily?

Sydney Scotia: Justin Hartley's character is obviously a survivalist, a tracker. He has a very special skillset, and that parallels with Ben's character. But I felt that Angie was also a bit of a survivalist herself. She has to take herself on the road. She's lived a tough life.

She gets in her van, she goes city to city, playing for tough crowds and small audiences, trying to make it as a country music singer, and she puts herself in harm's way a little bit. I think that's why Angie and Ben were able to form a bond so quickly—because they saw that survivalist nature in each other.

Ben and she go on tour at the end of the episode. What do you think will happen to them in the future?

Sydney, Nova Scotia: It's an interesting question. I believe that Ben and Angie develop a bond that lasts a lifetime. He hasn't really had anyone to call home, so they travel together and help each other along the way. For him and her, Angie truly becomes that home, in my opinion. That hasn't happened to her. Therefore, I believe they travel and go on tour. Hopefully, Angie will be performing in larger venues.

Near the end of the episode, there was a fairly intense shootout. Have you previously filmed anything similar?

Sydney Scotia: I have shot action sequences. This one was definitely really involved and it was very technical, and it was so many characters and machine guns, bullets flying everywhere. Not actual machine guns, obviously, but it was one of the bigger sequences I've done actually. And the stunt team was just amazing on Tracker. They rehearsed, made you feel really comfortable, so we knew what movements we were going to do. Nothing was a guessing game.

Because when you are shooting those sequences, there is a possibility that something can go wrong and people are moving at full speed, and you have all your energy pent up and ready to fly. So having the support of the stunt team for that was really nice. We had stunt doubles, but we did all the stunts ourselves. I ended up just talking to my stunt double a lot and saying, "What would you do in this scenario? What would you do to sell this movement? How would you do this safely?" So they were big sequences, and it was really fun to be a part of.

Scotia Appreciated the Unpredictability of Jacqueline Obradors' Tracker Persona

This episode of Tracker had a lot of twists. What caught you off guard?

Sydney Scotia: I loved the storyline that you don't know who you can trust at any moment. You don't know who's telling the truth. And I obviously loved my twist and turn with Ben that we lure him in just to capture him when he's getting close, we lure Tracker in.

But I did really enjoy the corruption or the lack thereof within the police station and seeing Jacqueline Obradors' character and wondering if she's on the good side of things or on the bad side of things. I like that everybody seemed like they had a different motive in this, and you didn't really know until the end who the good guys were.

I also loved that you played a larger role throughout the episode because, in many cases, the missing character doesn't return until the very end, if at all.

Sydney Scotia: I was super excited about that because, yeah, the typical, I don't know if it's a formula or just the way the show goes and why it is so successful, the procedural element of it, you know a little bit of what to expect, but then it'll take you on a different journey. But this one, I feel like I didn't know what to expect all the way through even reading the script. And the fact that I got to come back in pretty soon after being kidnapped, I was shocked and super surprised by that.

Would you want to go back to the show if there was a chance to?

Sydney Scotia: Oh my gosh, of course. Reading the script, I was like, "Oh, Jim's character is so similar to Justin's character, and they really do see each other in each other." And so I was obviously joking about, "What if there's a spinoff?" I, of course, would love any chance to revive this character.

Finally, since I know you've done some producing as well, I'm interested in what you're working on next.

Sydney, Nova Scotia: I produced and starred in Sawtooth Mountain, a thriller-horror movie that was being filmed in Vancouver just before Tracker. Additionally, I have been working on two scripts that I hope to produce this year: one in which I would like to act and one in which I would like to direct. They have spent the last few years in development. Additionally, I have a few more movies that will be released this year. ruthless Sawtooth and Bastards.
