Webs, the bad guys, the heart-but this is new, and you won't put it from page one. So, let's dive right into what makes this trailer so incredible and why you should be counting down the days until it hits Disney+! ;?

First things first: the animation. Holy smokes. The reality that Marvel has created for the series version of Spider-Man's world is top-notch. You hit the actual comic, comic-sci-fi with just the right touch of the time-modern dynamism inflating every frame with whimsy. You feel the energy of Spidey swinging through New York in that trailer, and you almost can feel the wind in your hair! The fight scenes? Pure fire. The flow of action is so smooth: the punches, the web-sling, the villainous moments of the action-all so smooth that you can be sure you're actually viewing a live-action movie. It's a kaleidoscope of color, movement, and energy that drags you into the Spider-Man universe in a way absolutely new! ;|?

the struggles of balancing high school life, fighting villains, dealing with personal loss, and well, trying not to blow up his secret identity. What really makes this series stand out, however, is the way they take Peter's development as not just Spider-Man but also as a person. Even in this trailer alone, they really capture those questions one feels throughout their development: what is being a hero about? How can you fit all the duties together and personal life in? We've seen the inner turmoil motif before, but somehow this just seems to feel so much more "real," less filtered. Be prepared for a journey of self-discovery, personal adversity, and emotion behind the mask. Peter really has some soul searching on his plate. Be prepared to see Spider-Man like never before--;

But of course, it couldn't be a true Spider-Man story without the cast of characters behind him, could it? Of course, we're in luck because Your Very Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man doesn't disappoint in this area: we get a sneak peek at Peter's interactions with his classic crew, MJ and Aunt May, among a bunch of other familiar faces. But it also teased some new ones, and let me tell you, some of them will be totally game-changing. I mean, Spidey is not only fighting the bad guys, but he is also struggling to work out how to balance his relationships, and it can get just as messy as the fights against villains. Whether trying to keep one's secrets shut or working out issues with loved ones, there is a bunch of heart-stopping action that could well have many laughing and crying, perhaps rethinking what they would do if faced with Peter's choices. Spidey's life is a whole web of complexities, and this series just goes right into the middle of all that. #RealTalk

And then, of course, villains. The trailer gives us some insight into some of the truly terrifying foes Peter's going to encounter, trust me these villains ain't no wimps! Classically Spidey in bad guys with just that little oomph to give it a fresh boost. Think of a villainous roster that is twisted, powerful, and set to give our web-slinging hero a run for his money. Be it the archetype of villains, say the Green Goblin, or the neophyte villain, these villians will add the heat that will force Peter to the edge. Jaw-dropping combat scenes, incredible tech, and a number of plot twists will keep you thrilled from the very start! ;_/)

Now, I know what you're probably thinking: "How does this all fit into the Marvel Universe?" And trust me, I have got you covered. It's such a great run, making a whole story about connection to the wider universe and yet keeping it as a Spider-Man story. We get a blend of standalone stories and subtle references to the Marvel universe at large. Although Peter's going to be on his own in New York, trust me, other heroes are going to be rolling through: for a team-up, a walk-on cameo role, or some awesome crossovers. Yeah, be prepared for surprises that will link this show to the greater Marvel Universe and raise the anticipation for more to come! That's just Marvel's way of saying, "Hey, Spider-Man's part of something bigger, but he's still the neighborhood hero we all know and love!"
