The Young and the Restless: Another false rumor

Lately, it seems that when there are no actual soap spoilers that rumors begin saying popular characters are leaving The Young and the Restless. A few weeks back the Internet was abuzz with the fake news that Melissa Ordway was walking away from her role as Abby Newman. The same unfounded news is being reported about her co-star Joshua Morrow. Nick Newman's current storyline or rather lack thereof has become fodder for those who make it up as they go along.

Josh Morrow has not said he is leaving

There is no evidence that Morrow will leave the CBS soap as the actor has not spoken on the issue. His character's current situation does not help and is why he is being targeted like Ordway. Misleading headlines and articles only cause soap fans to distrust spoilers so let's discuss what is happening with Nick Newman. Spoilers indicate that during the next few weeks Nicholas will feel left out so there is nothing new with Victor Newman's (Eric Braeden) first-born son.

The Young and the Restless: Phick pairing started the ball rolling

When Y&R paired Nick and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) together during this past year fans were skeptical. Many said it would never work and it did not. Phick seemed to be trying too hard and never found their good place with each other. They said and did all the right things but something was missing. Perhaps it was just too much too little too late and now they are over. Nick has had to deal with the fact that Jack Abbott (Peter Bregman) declared his love for Phyllis and he knows she feels something for him as well.

In addition, Nick has watched his father and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) bonding as they plotted to save Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) and takedown Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). When Nick wanted to expose Locke Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) turned on him and his dad and brother kept him out of the loop. Nick is now practically estranged from his sister and he is feeling out of sorts about the bond between Adam and Victor. Essentially, Nicholas is not in a front-burner storyline of his own and is on the sideline of others.

The Young and the Restless: Nick could end up like Billy

Hopefully, Nick will not fall as far from grace as his brother-in-law once did. A few years back Jason Thompson seemed to be written into a corner for which he would not emerge, There were rumors that he would be gone by the first of the year in 2020 but it did not happen. Billy was chewing gum, hanging out with Amanda Sinclair (Michelle Morgan) and at one point he was hallucinating. He turned into someone the viewers did not like but when he was paired with Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil) things changed somewhat.

Nick could end up with Sharon or Chelsea

Melissa Claire Egan will soon return as Chelsea Newman and some fans are hoping she and Nick might rekindle their love. Others who watch The Young and the Restless believe that Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) might push his parents back together and Shick fans would be delighted to seen Sharon with her first love again. All of this is speculation but the bottom line is that there is no reason to consider that Josh Morrow is leaving the CBS soap.

Joshua Morrow: Personal Life

Morrow has been in the role of Nick for 27 years since 1994 and he is a fan favorite. In addition to the CBS soap, the actor has appeared in Parker in 2013 and Golden Shoes in 2015. He has been married to his wife Tobe since August of 2001 and they have 4 children, three boys, and a girl.
