Days of Our Lives: A very Salem Christmas premieres on December 16
The movie will air on the Peacock streaming service with an all-star cast of past and present DOOL characters.

Days of Our Lives: A second movie for the holidays
Peacock streaming service is preparing for a second movie based on NBC's last remaining daytime drama. Days of Our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas, is set to stream exclusively on the platform beginning Thursday, December 16. The movie follows the success of Peacock’s limited series Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem and A Very Salem Christmas is the first holiday film spinoff from the popular soap.
The movie is produced by Corday Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television. There have been rumblings that Sony wants to cancel the number 4 soap on the air but they deny the claim. Ken Corday whose parents Ted and Betty Corday created DOOL serves as executive producer of the holiday film. His co-executive producer is Albert Alarr and Ron Carlivati is the head writer on the project.
Days of Our Lives fan favorites will return
This original holiday film brings the return of Alison Sweeney as Sami Brady. A television preview for the soap showed Lucas Horton (Bryan Datillo) on a phone call with Sami where she says she has been kidnapped and he replies that he is coming to get her. It's not clear how this will work itself into the holiday movie but Sweeney's fans and Lumi lovers will be glad for whatever they get.
Days viewers will tune in to find out how Samantha makes her way back to Salem. Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans) will be in the film but no details have been given. Fans will be wondering if she will still be possessed or if this is a stand-alone as was Beyond Salem. In the first Peacock film, the action and adventure had nothing at all to do with what was taking place in Salem at the time. Eileen Davidson who reprised her role as Kristin DiMera in Beyond Salem will return for the Christmas film as will Greg Rikaart who portrays the wild and wacky Leo Stark.
A Very Salem

has an all-star cast
Jackée Harry, Drake Hogestyn, Camila Banus (Gabi Hernandez), Chandler Massey, (Will Horton) Ari Zucker (Nicole, Walker) and Raven Bowens (Chanel Dupree) will also be on hand. Eric Martsolf (Brady Black, Billy Flynn, Paul Telfer, Lindsay Arnold (Allit Horton) , Lucas Adams, Carson Boatman (Johnny DiMera), Dan Feuerriegel (EJ DiMera) , Zach Tinker (Sonny Kiriakis), and Blake Berris (Nick Fallon) will also be in the film.
Days of Our Lives possession may or may not be in the film
The focal point of the holiday movie will be Will Horton who is writing a screenplay and trying to finish it before his deadline of Christmas Eve. He will be using "everyone’s favorite feel-good holiday movie tropes", to create a fun and festive story that will be based on his family and friends in Salem. There will naturally be a number of twists and turns that viewers will not see coming.
This does not sound as if current events are involved and that will thrill viewers. The second possession of Marlena is taking up a lot of time on DOOL so fans are hoping it will not be a part of the film. Both John and Marlena are in the cast but perhaps A Very Salem Christmas will have the duo working together and have nothing to do with the devil and be all about the joy of the season.

A Very Salem Christmas updates will come
Days of Our Lives Beyond Salem dropped hints and names of the cast a little at a time. Perhaps the holiday film promotion will be the same. Fans should be on the lookout for spoilers, updates and breaking news related to the Christmas film prior to its December 16 premiere.
