The Tyrant Review: Park Hoon-jung's darkest K-Drama yet

Uff, I slept last night watching a drama called The Tyrant, which comes in the action thriller spy category. The whole drama is one side and its last episode is one side, meaning stay connected, I am going to give you all the information without spoiling anything.

So look, finally, The Tyrant has now come openly in front of us, which you will get on Hotstar and Hulu. Do not watch it with family, especially with children. This is my request. By the way, there is nothing dirty in the series or anything like adult, vulgarity or nudity. No, but the brutality is of a very high level, that is, so much brutality has been shown here that there are no limits.

Story

Look, if we come to the story, it is kept very simple, there are two groups which are after something called Tyrant and that is the program of the government which is connected to kind of superhero or things with super power means whoever gets it, superpowers or superheroes will be on his side or he can become one himself, I am telling you this in a little twist but you will get to see a similar thing, so you have to find out after watching four episodes that who created The Tyrant, who has it and who will get it in the end?

The Tyrant 2024 Review

Now if I talk about the series, then let me tell you two things for which you have to go watch this series. First thing, if you have experienced The Witch Universe, then its director has made it, so you will get to see the same level of material. If you like that kind of thing, I mean it's stylish, cool action, then definitely if you watch this series, it will give you fun.

The second thing is if you like to watch web series or movies with brutal killing action sequences or you like to watch heart-breaking things or you like to watch superhero things then close your eyes and watch this series, it will give you fun.

But removing these two things, if you go to watch it from the point of view of a good story with good character development or depth, then perhaps this series will disappoint you because those who want to see things in this series. It seems that they have not been well developed.

Both the episodes of the beginning will go over your head in such a way that you will not understand what is going on, you will keep wondering this but from the third episode onwards everything has been connected. So gradually you will start understanding things and then the fourth episode will come out so fast that the words will come out of your mouth that I want more.

Everything has been kept very quick so you cannot feel fully connected to anything. Its action is very cool and stylish. You will enjoy watching it.

Unfortunately, this series could not provide the emotion and connection that should have been developed with the character, especially to me.

The production quality of the rest of the series is very good. I have mixed feelings about the character of Kim Seon-ho, meaning a lot of things could have been done, but I did not like what was done with him in the end, anyway. It's my choice.

Conclusion

Overall I would like to tell you that if you like watching brutal action web series, especially in Kdramas or if you like watching dark dramas or if you like watching and listening to The Witch flavor then definitely I recommend you to watch this series. Don't miss The Tyrant.

By ignoring its story and characters, you can enjoy its cool action or you can enjoy its brutality and in case if you go to watch it, then this thing will give you 200 percent fun.

Rest, I believe that the entire content of this series should have been well developed and presented and substance should have been given and there should have been depth which is felt somewhere, meaning everything was superficially undeveloped.
