The Return of the Order: Act 42
Act 42: Reconnecting

Malphas placed the hounds on the floor by the fireplace and checked the progress of their healing. Typhon had chosen the pets well; they were both young and strong. The scythes had missed their hearts, and their thick coats had shielded them from the worst of the blows. As he smoothed their necks, he heard the others come into the parlour. He stood, turned and watched as the twins tended to Ciel’s injuries and Louisa comforted the still shocked Margaret. Malphas watched as Margaret’s gaze flitted around the room before settling on him.
"Where is Typhon?" she asked, her voice edged with fear.
"He is overseeing the return of the hoard and those that are to be punished. William and Grell see to the reapers that surrendered," replied Malphas
“What will happen to them?”
"They will be disarmed and returned to the library. Without their scythes, they pose no danger. Undertaker and William will decide on their individual fates once he is finished here."
The room began to spin around Malphas. He gasped, his hand clutching his heart. He felt Louisa's presence close to him, her arms steadying him as the world around him shifted and spun. He could hear her voice but could not make out her words. He trembled and fell to his knees. Her arms around him and the sound of her voice comforted him, as pain and uncertainty cut through his chest. He leaned in close to Louisa as the world returned to normal, and the pain stopped as suddenly as it had begun.
"Malphas, what is it, what is wrong?" he could hear Louisa's words again now. Worry was evident in her voice.
He pulled her into an embrace and kissed her forehead. “It is done, the contract is broken,” he said, “one way or another, Lord Birch has made his choice.”
Louisa placed her hand on his chest over the mark she had made many years ago. Malphas mirrored her actions, holding her tight with his other arm as tears formed in her eyes.
"I can sense you once more, my love, and now the child too," he managed before his mouth found hers and he kissed her deeply. He had missed the comfort and closeness that their bond gave them. Now it had returned he wanted nothing more than to rake her away arms and hide away from the world until they had had their fill of each other. He was still contemplating the practicality of the idea when Typhon entered the room.
Groaning and pulling away from Louisa, he raised his head to Typhon, "Is it done?"
“Yes, those that surrendered have been disarmed and returned to the library. They await Undertaker’s final judgement when he returns,” replied Typhon.
“Good. And the last of the hoard has returned home?”
“Yes, I will join them shortly, I’m sure the young one will be eager to return to his friend,” said Typhon turning his attention to Ciel.
Malphas chuckled, “friend? That is the term the young demons are using these days.”
His laugh deepened as Ciel blushed, causing the others in the room to laugh and Ciel to blush even harder.
“Then I suggest that everyone gets some rest. There is still much to be decided,” said Malphas. Looking at the twins, he continued, “including where you two and your mates will reside now this is all over.”
Without waiting for any reply, Malphas lifted Louisa into his arms and made for their bedroom. He passed William and Grell as they entered the manor. Malphas inclined his head to the parlour, "you will find the twins in there," he said, quickening his pace and sprinting past them up the stairs.
Sorry this is a short chapter. If you want to know what happens once they get to their bedroom you will need to head over to - For the Love of a Demon - in the Filthy category where you will find all the naughty chapters. Word of warning this are definitely 18+.
