Klaus, the original vampire/werewolf hybrid, returns to New Orleans — which his family helped build — to investigate rumours of a plot against him, in this spin-off of `The Vampire Diaries’. He finds his former protege, Marcel, reigning powerful over its inhabitants, causing growing tension in the supernatural community. Klaus’ brother, Elijah, joins him, and they learn that werewolf Hayley has fallen into the hands of a defiant witch who has life-changing information. Klaus and Elijah plan to reclaim the city, and while waiting to see if their last remaining sibling, Rebekah, will leave Mystic Falls to join them, they form an alliance with the witches to help further their cause.
The Originals is an American fantasy supernatural drama television series that began airing on The CW on October 3, 2013. It is a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries and the first television series expansion of the franchise based on its parent series. The series follows vampire-werewolf hybrid Klaus Mikaelson as he and his family become embroiled in the supernatural politics of the French Quarter of New Orleans.[1]
On May 10, 2017, The CW renewed the series for a fifth season.[2] On July 20, 2017, it was announced by series creator Julie Plec ahead of Comic Con that the series’ fifth season would be its last. The final season began airing on April 18, 2018, and finished on August 1, 2018.[3][4][5]
The Originals, a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries, centers on three of the Mikaelson siblings: Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Rebekah (Claire Holt). The Mikaelson family are also commonly known as “the Originals” due to the fact that they are the first vampires ever to exist. Niklaus “Klaus” Mikaelson is the son of a witch and a werewolf, and his quest to unleash his hybrid nature was detailed in The Vampire Diaries. The backdoor pilot, which aired on April 25, 2013, also revealed that the werewolf Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), with whom Klaus had a drunken one-night stand, is pregnant with his child.
The series begins with the Original siblings returning to the city of New Orleans for the first time since 1919, where a pregnant Hayley has also settled. Having originally built the French Quarter, they had been forced to abandon it when fleeing from their vengeful father, Mikael (Sebastian Roché). In their absence, Klaus’s protégé, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), took charge of the French Quarter. Klaus resolves that they must take down Marcel and get back the city that once belonged to them while protecting their city from a war brewing between vampires, werewolves, and witches.
The first season describes how Klaus’s mystical child is going to be born and speaks of the threats that the Originals together must keep her safe from.
The second season deals with the return of Klaus and his siblings’ parents, the arrival of an aunt who threatens the baby’s life, and a new family member who shows up to help.
The third season shows the Mikaelsons facing both a prophecy that speaks of their downfall and the first generation of non-Original vampires which they sired, who have wanted revenge against the Mikaelsons for nearly a millennium.
The fourth season jumps ahead five years, with the Mikaelsons returning to New Orleans and having to face a reawakened ancient mystical menace set on destroying anything in its path.
The fifth and final season of the series takes place seven years after the fourth season, with Hope now being a teenager at a school for supernatural children, the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted and the Mikaelsons still having to face the ancient menace from the previous season while trying to re-unite their family once again.
Joseph Morgan as Klaus Mikaelson: The self-proclaimed King of the French Quarter of New Orleans and the Original Hybrid: half-Original Vampire and half-werewolf. As the son of a witch and a werewolf alongside being a vampire by magic, Klaus is one of the most powerful and feared supernatural beings in history but also has a soft spot for his family. He is the father of Hayley’s daughter, Hope, and is the adoptive father of Marcel, also his former protégé. He eventually develops feelings for Cami.
Daniel Gillies as Elijah Mikaelson: An Original Vampire and Klaus’s older maternal half-brother. He is shown to be extremely suave, always sporting a suit, and level-headed compared to Klaus’s more heated tendencies. He is also known as the “Noble Brother”. He harbors romantic affections for Hayley.
Claire Holt as Rebekah Mikaelson (season 1; special guest star seasons 2–5): An Original Vampire and Klaus’s younger maternal half-sister. She is Klaus’s favorite and the youngest of the Mikaelson siblings after the death of Henrik. At one time, she was in a romantic relationship with Marcel. Despite her unwavering love for her family, she desires to find love and start a family of her own, which is complicated by her family name and vampire status. She eventually leaves New Orleans to pursue a simpler life outside of her family. Holt departs the main cast near the end of season 1 but has guest-starred sporadically in every season since. Maisie Richardson-Sellers portrayed Rebekah during the second half of season 2 and one episode of season 3, when Rebekah possessed witch Eva Sinclair’s body.
Phoebe Tonkin as Hayley Marshall: Originally a werewolf, later hybrid, who conceived a daughter with Klaus named Hope. She is revealed to be the long-lost Alpha of her werewolf bloodline. Later, she rises to become the Alpha of the entire Crescent pack when the Alphas of all the other bloodlines bow down before her. She is initially reluctant to be involved with the Mikaelsons, but is eventually accepted into the family and accepts them in return. She reciprocates Elijah’s romantic feelings, but marries Jackson Kenner in order to unite their packs.
Charles Michael Davis as Marcel Gerard: A vampire and former slave. He was turned by Klaus, his adoptive father and former mentor. He has a romantic past with both Rebekah and Cami. His relationship with the Mikaelsons is complicated as a result of his history with them as well as philosophical differences. They are often adversarial as Klaus and Marcel constantly struggle for power over the French Quarter of New Orleans. He rescues Davina from being sacrificed and takes her under his wing as his adoptive daughter. Towards the end of the third season, Marcel is transformed into an Upgraded Original Vampire, a vampire far more powerful than the Originals themselves, thus fulfilling a Prophecy said at the start of the season.
Daniella Pineda as Sophie Deveraux (season 1): A powerful witch of the French Quarter.
Leah Pipes as Camille O’Connell (seasons 1–3; special guest star seasons 4–5[6]): A human bartender with a psychology degree who acts as a therapist for and eventually becomes romantically involved with Klaus Mikaelson. For decades, her family has helped protect the human locals of the French Quarter from all things supernatural.
Danielle Campbell as Davina Claire (seasons 1–3; special guest star seasons 4–5[7]): A powerful young witch and Marcel’s adoptive daughter who becomes Regent of all witch covens in New Orleans. She doesn’t much care for the Mikaelsons and seeks to destroy them with Marcel’s help, until she unknowingly falls in love with one.
Yusuf Gatewood as Vincent Griffith (seasons 2–5; guest star season 1): A witch once possessed by Finn, the eldest brother among the Mikaelson siblings. He is the ex-husband of Eva Sinclair, the witch Rebekah possessed. He succeeds Davina as Regent of all witch covens in New Orleans.
Riley Voelkel as Freya Mikaelson (seasons 3–5; recurring season 2): Klaus’s long-lost maternal older half-sister, Freya is an immensely powerful and skilled thousand-year-old witch. She is the eldest of the Mikaelson siblings, and only returns to the Mikaelson family after breaking free from control and immortality curse of their Aunt Dahlia.
Danielle Rose Russell as Hope Mikaelson (season 5), the teen-aged daughter of Klaus and Hayley, and who is an extremely powerful supernatural being as she holds the three-fold lineage of vampire, werewolf, and witch.
Young Hope is portrayed by Summer Fontana (recurring season 4, guest season 5).
Baby Hope is portrayed by uncredited infant actors in seasons 1–3.
Steven Krueger as Josh Rosza (season 5; recurring seasons 1–4), a visitor to New Orleans who is soon turned into a vampire. He befriends Davina, and later serves as Marcel’s lieutenant.
On January 11, 2013, it was announced that a backdoor pilot focused on the Originals, starring Joseph Morgan as Klaus and titled The Originals would air sometime in April for a potential series pick-up for the 2013–2014 season. On April 26, 2013, The Originals was confirmed for a full series.[8] This second spin-off attempt will be overseen by Julie Plec, with no involvement by Kevin Williamson.[9] The Originals was officially picked up by The CW on April 26, 2013, for the 2013–14 season.[10] Season one of The Originals was set to premiere on Tuesday, October 15.[11] However, on July 29, 2013, The CW announced that the series premiere would instead air on October 3, 2013, following the fifth-season premiere of The Vampire Diaries in order to attract fans of the series.[1] On October 10, 2013, the CW ordered three additional scripts for the series.[12] On November 11, 2013, the CW decided to order a full season for The Originals.[13]
Following her March 11 episode Claire Holt left the main cast.[14] Holt confirmed that she would be returning to the show, but that she needed to spend time with her family first.[15]
List of The Originals episodes § The Originals: The Awakening
In November 2014, a web series titled The Originals: The Awakening was released as the fourth show in the franchise. The series explores the character Kol Mikaelson and his relationships with his siblings. Flashing back to 1914, Kol is on a quest to form an alliance with the witches of the French Quarter. Awakening gives answers to some questions about Kol’s past, including the origins of his rivalry with his family and the unique backstory he has with the New Orleans witches. Each webisode is approximately two minutes long. The series concluded on December 8, 2014. To date, The Originals: The Awakening is the only web series in The Vampire Diaries franchise.
On January 27, 2015, the first book in a series of novels based on the show was released.[45] The Rise, The Loss, and The Resurrection make up the three novels in The Originals series written by Julie Plec.[46]
In August 2017, it was announced that a spin-off focusing on Hope Mikaelson, the daughter of Klaus and Hayley, was in development. Julie Plec, co-creator of The Vampire Diaries and creator of The Originals, wrote the script and is credited with creating the series.[47] In January 2018, it was revealed that filming for the pilot would go into production in the second quarter of 2018.[48] It was announced in March 2018 that the spin-off was in fact ordered to pilot, but instead of a traditional pilot, Plec would be delivering a fifteen-minute pilot presentation of the series to The CW. It was also announced that The Vampire Diaries veteran Matt Davis would star in the project along with Aria Shahghasemi, Quincy Fouse, Jenny Boyd, and Kaylee Bryant. Shahghasemi debuted in the fifth season of The Originals as Hope’s friend Landon.[49]
On May 11, 2018, it was announced that the spin-off, titled Legacies, was ordered to series for the 2018–19 season. The show centers around “a 17-year-old Hope, along with Alaric’s twin daughters, and other young witches, vampires, and werewolves” as they come of age at the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted.[50]
Just recently I re-watched TVD and finally decided to go ahead with The Originals and oh boy.. I simply simply loved this show! Loved the entire cast! I don't remember crying so much as I did for this towards the end.
Joseph Morgan will make you love Klaus, despite the paranoid narcissistic killer temper, you will recognise the wee bit of goodness that is buried deep. You see him finally doing right by his family. Daniel Gillies as Elijah is what made me yearn an always and forever for myself.
Phoebe Tonkin as Haley, Charles Michael Davis as Marcel, Yusuf Gatewood as Vincent Griffith and Leah Pipes as Camille, were remarkable.
S1&2 is a lil slow and somewhat boring, but I understand the point was to make an introduction and solidify the Mikaelson family saga. S3 is the best, though many don't like it coz of too many deaths of major characters. But no wonder that's how it draws you in, leaves you stunned and emotional. I so so so loved Cami's character, such a strong sensible kind and bold spirit. I honestly wanted to see Cami & Klaus together till the end, their relationship was so beautiful, but then the Caroline loophole was in motion since TVD anyway.
S4&5 were pretty good, it cemented my liking for Marcel and also S4 had an end of series type finale, but S5 was an extension to give Hope a chance to spend some time with her family. Danielle Rose Russell seems apt for the role of Klaus's daughter.
I felt so broken to see Haley die, and I hated Elijah then, that scene spoke volumes. Also, I would have liked to see another way of killing the Hollow's darkness rather than Klaus's end with it.
But then, Kalus's redemption felt so much relevant, and Elijah's way of redefining 'Always and Forever' (despite being self destructive) was absolutely touching. The family reunion at the end filled me with joy.
I loved the series finale, rarely do we see such a full circle closure to any show.
Though I feel if Hope did not have her own show planned, the series would have ended a bit differently, I feel it would have been better to see Hope have atleast one parent.
Overall The Originals is pretty dark and serious.. but much better than TVD (am saying this being a huge TVD fan), be it plotwise, character development, strong performances and finale, it's nicely crafted. Undoubtedly it's a successful spin-off.
It was also nice to see some of our TVD stars making special appearances here.
I hope to watch Legacies soon. Happy quarantine people.
The Originals is the spin off of The Vampire Diaries, one of the best television shows I’ve ever watched. So it had a lot to live up to. And did it? Well it did, and more. The Originals focuses on the original family of Vampires, the oldest and strongest vampires in the history of time. They were first introduced in Season 02 Of TVD(Klaus and Elijah), and Season 03’s main storyline was all about the Mikaelson family, the Originals. And that season was one of TVD’s best. So The Originals is an amazing show and is not to be missed. Joseph Morgan is an amazing actor, and he makes you love Klaus, even when he’s the bad guy. Daniel Gillies is a great actor, he makes that noble, caring Elijah really come alive. Phoebe Tonkin’s character is a very lovely addition to the show. Hayley is like their moral compass, a necessary good. The Originals is just as good, if not better than TVD, you feel for these characters and keep wanting more. It’s currently airing its final season, and it’s so far been lovely(and tragic). Season 01 was about the family’s return to New Orleans, the city they helped found, only to find it taken over by Klaus’ former protege, Marcel(I hate him). And Klaus was shocked to find out about his to be born child. It was a great season, especially E16 and E21,22. For TVD fans, Michael Trevino stars as Tyler Lockwood for 2 episodes.
Season 02 was about how an old time relative of the family had returned to take back what she was promised- every firstborn of the Mikaelson clan, in other words, Hope. For TVD fans, Nina Dobrev stars in E06 as Tatia, the original Petrova doppelgänger.
Season 03 was about the realisation of a very dark prophecy- each Mikaelson would fall, one by friend, one by foe and one by family. It’s also the season where the Upgraded Original Vampires are intro’d(Beware of Lucien Castle). Best of all, Kol Mikaelson comes back! For TVD fans, Paul Wesley stars as Stefan Salvatore in E14, which is a TVD/TO crossover.
Season 04 was a short one, but very impactful. It makes us cry for this family and it’s just a great season. For TVD fans, Matt Davis stars as Alaric Saltzman in E13 and one more.
Season 05 is the final season, and quite emotional. E06 will break your heart, E10 will make you see how adorable Klaus and Hope’s relationship is and E08 is fascinating. For TVD fans, Candice King stars as Caroline Forbes for E01, E06, E07(voice), E12(to air soon) and maybe 13(series finale) and Matt Davis will star as Alaric Saltzman in E12.
Don’t miss The Originals, it gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spin off of The Vampire Dairies is The Originals. Like TVD, The Originals is one of the great show ever. Here we get to see more about the original family and their history. The characters like Klaus Mikaelson (played by Joseph Morgan), Elijah Mikaelson (played by Daniel Gillies), Rebekah Mikaelson (played by Claire Holt), Marcel Gerard (played by Charles Michael Davis), Hayley Marshall (played by Phoebe Tonkin) and so on was just superb!!! Elijah looks very handsome in his suits, his compassion, unrelenting desire for his brother's redemption was outstanding. Klaus, on the other hand was a better man after he knew that he was going to be a father, the way he saves his daughter Hope from all the troubles (he has his own ways), treating Marcel like his own son was amazing to see. Don't be misguided by TVD (opinion on Klaus), u will be surprised by how much he changes in the later seasons, even if he has to fight with his own people, he does it and to save his family, he goes to great lengths. The brotherly bond between Klaus and Elijah, Klaus love for his daughter, Elijah and Hayley love, Rebekah and Marcel love and her affection towards her brothers was beautiful. "FAMILY IS POWER", "ALWAYS AND FOREVER" was portrayed in such an amazing manner and the thrills, twists, loyalty were too good. Especially the last season, we get to see more of the emotional bond and the sacrifice all of them make to save Hope. Other characters like Freya, Kol, Davina etc..were nice. I personally felt Klaus and Elijah were the best. We even get a glimpse of Stefan and Caroline (at the end) and her love towards Klaus was great to watch. Elijah's memory lost, Hayley's death and the climax was bit sad, though it was a great sacrifice.
Overall, if u love supernatural and watched TVD, give this a shot...U will love it a lot....Don't miss it!!!
I'm not one to write reviews on anything I watch, infact this is the first time I'm writing but mann, for what I believe is, one of the BEST shows ever, I feel obliged to write down how amazing it is, to make its existence known to people. I started off with TVD and enjoyed every bit of the show and when it ended I thought nothing could top my list but nope, I was so wrong. The short appearance of the Mikaelson family in TVD had me craving for more and I, for some reason felt very attached to Klaus' character. I cannot imagine what the whole team of 'the originals' must've gone through to make this masterpiece come to life. I absolutely loved everything about them; the storyline, their acting skills, their dialogues, every.little.detail. I never got bored, though I gotta admit the first season was a little slow but please don't let that be a reason for you to stop watching, I swear it gets better. I don't wanna write spoilers down but this show took me on one hell of a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I laughed, I cried, I got so frustrated at some point but in the end, I enjoyed every emotion I felt because it made me realise how much I understood the whole thing and felt the way they wanted the audience to feel .The one thing that melted my heart into a puddle was the fact that they made *family* such an important topic, from the beginning till the very end. I wish Klaus would compel me to forget the storyline and I rewatch the whole thing with the same level of excitement and curiosity 😂 The character development I've seen in this show beats no other for me. All the actors played their characters so damn right, I cried like a baby when some of my favourite characters died. And oh, not forgetting to mention the excellent choice for selection of songs. Till this day I remember their scenes when I listen to the songs. I love Niklaus Mikaelson and his family so much 😢 I will never forget The Originals. #Alwaysandforever
I have never ever given any review for any show but I had to give for this one. One of the best shows I have ever watched. It’s an emotional rollercoaster ride and you will love this show. Even though it’s a spin off it lived up to its expectations or maybe even better. Many episode made me cry and laugh but the last episode was something else. All the actors Joseph Morgan (Klaus) Daniel Gillies (Elijah) Pheobe Tonkin (Hayley) Claire Holt (Rebekah) Charles Davis (Marcel) acted amazingly and portrayed their character excellently. Nobody could have played the characters better then the cast especially Joseph and Daniel. The brother bond of Elijah and Klaus is better than even Damon and Stefan.
(Spoiler Alert)
I loved all the seasons but season 3 was the best and second was season 5 I loved the ending even though many people hated it but I believe that Elijah and Klaus dying together for family redefined Always and Forever. I love the character development of Klaus through Hope. Even though the love stories were not successful but this show was always about Family and not romance which was even better. Elijah was really selfless and I loved him. Hayley was an amazing mom. Rebekah was my favourite female character and I loved her wit. Marcel was okayish. And Kol was nice as well.
Spoiler Finished:
Overall amazing show, amazing plot, amazing acting and if you love supernatural stuff you should definitely watch it.
The Originals still remains the greatest show I have ever watched. It's a fictional show talking about supernatural beings, but you won't feel as if it's fiction when you watching it. The main storyline is about the Mikaelson's,A family having the oldest and first Vampires to ever exist(The Originals).
In the first season of show the family goes back to New Orleans, a city the helped build.Only to find Niklaus Mickaelson's(My favourite fictional character) protégé Marcel ruling over the city. The other main revelation was klaus unborn child, this was somewhat special because naturally Vampires can't have children, but klaus wasn't an ordinary vampire he was a hybrid ,both vampire and werewolf.
In the second season an aunt to the original siblings,Dahlia, comes to collect what she was promised, every first born of the Mikaelson clan of which in this case was Klaus' daughter Hope.in the end she failed to get the child after losing the battle to the Mickaelson family.
The third season was all about the prophecy which foretold the falling of the Mickaelsons one by friend, one by foe and the other by family. It introduced the first sired vampires who were trying to protect their sires or were they?
Season four begins on a low note with Klaus imprisoned and the rest of the Mickaelson put to sleep luckily Hayley(hopes mother)manges to awaken them and together the manage to rescue Klaus. The latter on in the season have to ask for help from Marcel and Vicent(head New Olearns withes).
The final season was a great and emotional one.It saw Klaus Mickaelson and his brother Elijah sacrifice themselves. After Klaus took in all the Hallows magic to save Hope.
I know this review is about the The Originals but please bear with me. I had heard of The Vampire Diaries and being fascinated by vampires and werewolves, I always intended on watching it. I watched a couple of episodes but never quite committed myself to continue watching it due to time constraints. Then the pandemic happened and I started up again and this time i couldn’t stop. I found it to be one of the best shows I’ve ever watched. I was left wanting more.
Then I discovered there was a spin off and started my journey of watching The Originals. At first I was a little disappointed as i wasn’t feeling it but nonetheless, I continued and all I can say is WOW! I absolutely loved this show even more! I loved the story line, the cast, and the journey it took me on as the characters and their relationships evolved while the story line progressed.
And Joseph Morgan as Nicklaus...I can’t even begin to explain how one can love such an evil, destructive, and broken character. I felt such sympathy given all he endured regardless of all the bad he did. His performance and portrayal of Klaus was just remarkable!!! In addition, Daniel Gillies as Elijah played his part to perfection. His style and class were absolutely spectacular. I am now a fan of both.
I encourage everyone to watch this show. If you just give it a chance and persist in watching it past the parts that seem a bit bland, I guarantee it will eventually draw you in. It will take you through a rollercoaster of emotions which at times will leave you stunned and at other times will have you balling like crazy.
The Originals goes beyond what one would expect in a show with vampires, werewolves, and witches. It is all about love, family, and redemption. From the happiness felt during the family reunion to Klaus’ moment of redemption and then to Elijah redefining “Always and Forever”, this was undoubtedly one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. And although many may not have appreciated the ending, I can’t picture a better finale. I have never cried so much while at the same time feeling somewhat comforted. All I can say is AMAZING!
As a new fan of the show I fell in love with Hope's character watching legacies. I trailed back to vampire diaries to see the beginning and get introduced to the infamous Klaus Mikaelson. So intrigued by his character and wanting to know Hope's background I began watching the originals. Boy was this the best series I've ever watched. Falling in love with the story of the Mikaelson family and their dear friends along the way. Crying after the deaths of so many characters in the show I must say, you all did an amazing job. Though it is a tv series I felt like I was apart of the show and the family up until the end. I find myself even even mourning the loss of Jackson, Cami, Hayley, Elijah, Klaus and seeing joy in Hooes future and triumphs in legacies. Hoping to see more of Rebekah and Marcel, Kol and Devina and of course the new edition to the Mikaelson family from Freya, Keelin and Vincent. So sad that a part of the story had to end with some of you but i truly and grateful for you all and the work you all put into this series. Thank you to the writers, directors and all the cast who have graced the screen making this show extremely memorable and dear to my heart. I could binge watch this over and over again. Great job guys.
Incredible, incredible.... One of the best series and actors the cast I have seen so far. Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is a different level actor. Hats off 🙌🙌 I am fan now always & forever! OMG his plans and mind games, just by his expression you will know what he is up to, oh and ofcourse his British accent ♥️ Never seen such an amazing , vicious, emotional, vindictive but at the same time brilliant vampire. You rule vampires world and you truly are king of vampires, Well I would just say I'm Impressed ! Elijah is the x-factor of the show along with his chemistry with Phoebe Tonkin's. As Elijah I would say you are the sassy , cool, powerful, the most gentle, calm and effective screen presence. There is no originals without you. Brilliant actor you both nailed it. I would equally give credit to every character of this show. Phoebe, marcell, Freya and lovely Rebecca. Missed screen time of Rebecca. Beautiful and cunning vampire lady. You guys slayed every other vampire show. 🙌🙌
Someone please give them a Oscar ..
Don't know how many times I'm gonna watch this show ... Totally Loved it.♥️♥️
If I have to give a review for The Originals in two words I would say "I Cried
This is the best spinnof of a show I've ever seen. It can be compared to and is possibly even better than the original show the vampire diaries. The acting is amazing and every actor seems like they were born to play their role. I would even say that Joseph Morgan who is in my opinion the best actor in the show is in the same leauge as actors such as Brad Pitt. Besides Joseph several other actors have done an amazing job such as Daniel Gillies, Daniel Campbell, Daniel Rose Rusell, Jusuf Gatewood, Sommers Fontana, Leah Pipes, Riley Voelkel and so on. In addition this show has some of the best anti heroes in all of media and their storylines as well as charecter development and relationships give this show a great bonus. This shows concept of how good and evil don't exist and how the only difference in who's telling the story is ana amazing lesson to teach viewers even though these charecters commonly go too fat and some would believe that their struggles are mismatched karma for past sins. However despite all the amazing elements the show has several negative attributes. In my opinion after the first 9 episodes to just became a bag of wasted potential having started things great constantly only throw them away and repeat the same things (mainly the betrayals) over and over and over again. Tvd more or less achieved everything it could tho a lot slower than most shows where as to and legacies are great ideas and setups but overall just wasted potential. The writers are horrible and they refuse to realize what the fans want and the critics for this show certainly didn't help which led the originals to be reduced to 5 incomplete seasons instead of 8 like tvd. The actors got bored of their roles over time and refuse to reprise. The villains mainly the witches are extremely annoying. There are charecters such as Davina and Vincent that should have died and stayed dead yet instead stayed for the whole show. The power inconsistencies are annoying and several charecters are commonly either nerfed or overpowered needlessly for the story such as Klaus and the originals being nerfed to a point where any witch can beat them, the introduction of the 7 warewolf pack poison and the beast prophecy neither of which should exist and ruined the lore and Hayley being overpowered to ne stronger than she should be without any explanation. Every charecter has also been annoying at some point. The hollow storyline was trash and season 4 could have been the best season if not for the hollow, Vincent and Davina, season 5 ruined everything the other seasons fought for, season 3 had annoying and delusional antagonists as well as a bad backstory, season 1 was ruined by the witches after episode 9 and season 2 while arguably the best did ruin charecters such as Elijah, Rebekah and Hayley to some extent at the end. There were occasionally great crossovers between tvd and to and great refferences but just not enough of them. Overall i feel like this show could have been one of the best of all time if not for such horrible writing a d had it listened to fans more. As well as notmcreated several needless things such as the beast serum jn season 3 or the hollow or the various back from the dead methods such as Davina's revival and Kol's relationship with her which ultimately ruined Kol's charecter.
I LOVE the mikaelson family. They were honestly my favorite. Klaus was misunderstood and that wasn't fair. He didn't ask his mother to go sleep with a werewolf but she did and honesty she gave birth to the best hybrid ever created. Marcel always thought he had to prove himself to everyone just to be apart of my favorite saying "ALWAYS AND FOREVER" but when klaus took him in he wasn't just taking care of him he made him family, So even though he wasn't born a Mikaelson he still was one. Klaus daggered his family for so long bc he felt betrayed by the people who were supposed to stand by him no matter what, people always made klaus sound like a crazy murderer but he just made the people that wronged him and his family pay for what they did. Even though he felt like his family turned their backs on him at times, he always showed up when they needed him, and to be honest i would love to be apart of the Mikaelson family even after everything they have been through because they showed me the true meaning of family. "Over the course of my long like i have come to that we are bound forever with those that we share blood, and while we may not choose our family, that bond can be our greatest strength,or our deepest regret."- Klaus Mikaelson
Amazing show if you like supernatural shows then take the time to watch “The Originals” Joseph Morgan,Daniel Gilles,Claire Holt,Charles Michael Davis,(Leah Pipes,Phobe,Tonkin,Danielle Campbell) fascinating cast with great stories and back stories the entire cast is smoking🔥 Vampires,Werewolves,Witches With drama, violence, romance, dark, some gore, and a lil comedy it’s worth every min watching. I’ve rewatched several times myself. Almost forgot great visuals and effects. The storylines make you feel relatable to certain characters and empathize w them. You will have strong emotions w this show and yr fav characters. But you will love it the narcissistic personality w heart, the ass kicking and all!!
I finished watching this yesterday, was watching this show for almost 3 months or so. At first i just surfed through Netflix and was wondering what to watch after finishing Teen Wolf (great one btw).
