I have been watching Crime Patrol Satark in Canada on Sony TV for the past five years or so. I believe the series has been shown on the channel for more than 10 years now. I think it has the best TV series I have seen to date.

The show has episodes five days a week (sometimes more). Each episode is a story based on an actual police case in India. The producers of the show have the locations and names changed but the case details are true. The actors who work on these episodes are top notch actors who are as good as any actors worldwide. They bring to life the policemen, criminals, families, suspects, etc. in each episode. The drama quotient for the episodes is quite high.

Some of the actors who have worked in this series include Nissar Khan, Sanjeev Tyagi, Pawan Kumar, etc. One drawback of the episodes is that they do not show the main cast's names for each episode. If I could suggest anything to the show's producers it would be this.

While many of the cases can be graphic and disturbing I think the show’s purpose is to alert people in India so that they are more aware of themselves and their surroundings. I have seen episodes dealing with dowry, assault, internet crime, covid related crime, business crime, fraud, revenge, etc. Sometimes the crime is committed outside India as well.

At the end of each episode when each case is solved it is satisfying to know that. Also, often there is an element of mystery as often the police are trying to find the actual criminal from several suspects.

It is sad to see that there is quite a lot of crime and that too on a sophisticated level these days. On the other hand it is great to see the police work so hard to solve these cases. Often they work with their colleagues in other cities and states to nab the criminals. They also have an elaborate network of informers.

The show’s episodes are started by a famous actor or actress being the host. They introduce the case and talk about it briefly, talk in the middle once or twice and then at the end of the episode they conclude the case. The host of the show is an integral part of the series.

I have seen other similar shows such as Law & Order (and its spin offs) that are interesting and dramatic to watch but I think that Crime Patrol Satark is still my favourite. In one episode a young woman fights the in-laws of her deceased cousin because they seem to have murdered her cousin. In another episode a young man tries to help a young woman who was defrauded into human trafficking. In an episode a middle aged man takes revenge against a retired bureaucrat for an unfortunate incident that took place many years ago. Like these episodes there are hundreds of more episodes that have been produced over the years.

I hope this show continues for a few more years as I find it very interesting. I would prefer watching an episode of this show rather than watching a movie. They should dub the show in other Indian languages so as to widen its audience. They can also dub the show in English for an international audience.

I believe the show is a good starting point for many newcomers who come to Mumbai to act. Once they have worked in this show they can then start looking for more work in television shows and movies.

I thank the producers, directors, actors, actresses and writers for making such a wonderful TV series such as Crime Patrol Satark. This show has entertained and informed millions of people in India as well as other countries where Indians are living as non-residents.
