Talia al Ghul Returns to 'Arrow'—but What Is Her End Game?
Arrow fans got a shock this week when Talia al Ghul, daughter of the deceased Ras al Ghul, broke into Oliver's cell at Slabside Prison. Not only had she survived the explosion on LIan Yu, she had also taken over Level Two of the prison, dubbing herself "The Demon," which is appropriate since she is the daughter of the demon who is now deceased.

Expectations for Season 4 of 'Rupaul's Drag Race All Stars'
Even though most hardcore Drag Race fans have known the cast of All-Stars 4 for quite a while now, the official announcement, including the promo looks and interviews, has just been released. With these promo looks and interviews, we get to hear from the queens directly about their plans for the upcoming season. I am so excited for this upcoming season and couldn't be happier about seeing all these queens back, back, back again, but I do have some concerns and there is quite a bit to break down coming into the season.

The Ethics of the Borg
When one attempts to think of the most menacing villains out of any sci-fi stories, the Borg will come to mind fairly soon. First appearing in the Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG) episode “Q Who?”, they are an alien race that appears as recurring antagonists in the Star Trek franchise. The Borg are a collection of species that have been turned into cybernetic organisms functioning as drones in a hive mind called the Collective. The Borg use a process called assimilation to force other species into the Collective by violent injection of microscopic machines called nanoprobes. The Borg's ultimate goal is "achieving perfection". To do this they not only use the knowledge they gain from those they have assimilated, but also the technology they salvage from the races they’ve conquered. The Borg are portrayed as juggernauts against which "resistance is futile" and an unstoppable force that mercilessly assimilates and kills for their own good, almost like a zombie plague. Is it truly that simple though? The Borg believe themselves to be in the right. They see the unassimilated as children who cannot make decisions on their own, so in much the same way we would force a child to go to the doctor, they force assimilation on other races for their own good. With these ethics, when it comes to an encounter with the Borg, you can either join or fight. So with these two sides, which option is preferable? We need to know in case we find something like them, and it seems possible that we might, for as Carl Sagan said, “Because terrestrial civilization has only recently achieved radio astronomical capability, it is highly improbable that there are any other communicative civilizations in the Milky Way Galaxy so backward as we. It therefore makes considerable sense for us to receive rather than to transmit messages. It also follows that the transmitting civilization is likely to have technological and scientific capabilities immensely in excess of our own.” In that case, should we join this collective? Should we join the Borg?

Why 'The Good Place' Is One of the Best Shows on Regular TV
There are so many bad TV shows that for some reason have not gotten cancelled yet. No, I won’t bother naming any names in this one… My point being, it is a rare occurrence and a wonderful thing to find such an outstanding show. The show I am referring to, currently on its’ third season, is The Good Place. The creator of The Good Place, Michael Schur, has also worked on some cult favorites, like Parks and Rec, The Office (my favorite!) and he’s done some work on Black Mirror as well. His new show is set in Heaven. The story is about a woman who ends finds out on her first day that she does not belong and somehow the "higher ups" have confused her with someone else. This woman is named Eleanor Shellstrop and is played by Kristen Bell. Kristen Bell does a fantastic job and is not her normal Rom-Com character as I have seen her before.

'Tis the season! Every year, starting in October, the Hallmark channel and the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries channel debut well over a dozen new Christmas movies as part of its seasonal programming called "Countdown to Christmas." This year, there were 37 movies in the line-up that began October 27th and will wrap up December 29th.

What I'm Watching
*Some Spoilers!* As the snow begins to fall here in Michigan this November, I'm ready to hunker down with my favorite chunky blanket and catch up on my lists. Personally, I watch Netflix and Hulu regularly. I know that there's lots of other streaming services out there that probably have a lot of options and merit, but I'm trying to simplify my life. So two streaming services it is.

Will Felicity Smoak Walk the Same Dark Path as Earth 2's?
Arrow fans thought they'd seen the darker side of Felicity Smoak in earlier episodes, but Earth 2's Black Siren offered a different take on the IT Tech who's now Mrs. Oliver Queen. The new Laurel Lance described Earth 2's Felicity as ruthless and a woman who runs her own empire. Both of which are the polar opposite of the woman we've known for the past six seasons. And Black Siren has us more than a little intrigued.
