'Venom'
Regarding Venom and Sony's decisions: First off, ignore the critics and just see the movie. It was a fun ride that I got to see for free, but would happily pay to see again. One of the critiques people have is that it's not "violent enough" and that the movie settled to a PG-13 rating after being teased for over a year it would be rated R.

'Venom' Fails to Merge
Venom features journalist Eddie Brock being merged with an alien parasite known as, well, Venom. In the movie, Brock is one of the few humans who is able to successfully bond with the symbiote but unfortunately, the movie lacks any successful connection with itself. Venom, most known as a villain of Spider-Man, can only be described as mediocre and generic.

'Bad Times at the El Royale' A Review
Before you start, I know the subtitle to this review is shit, so before you start criticising me, go fuck yourself. Now we have that out of the way, when I first saw the trailer for Bad Times at the El Royale I was instantly intrigued. Presenting a stellar cast and a cool setting, Bad Times was a film for which I had some very high hopes, and after seeing it this Friday, I'm very glad to say that the high hopes were comfortably satisfied.

'The Ferryman'
Robert Massimi. The Ferryman at the Jacobs Theatre begins with two characters leaning up against a brick wall. It is a blighted out area in Belfast, Northern Ireland. We hear helicopters and sirens faintly in the background as one sips his beer and the other watches intently. On the wall are spray painting of "We Are The People" and "BOBBY." The audience finds out in short order how ruthless the IRA is and what they will do to succeed in there efforts. No one is safe from this organization, not even the local priest nor members of this terrorist organization.

'Venom' Review
It feels like a lifetime since the announcement of a stand-alone Venom movie. With revelation after revelation of the cast, plot, and potential character appearances, Venom was released to the comic book movie world. And just like the original teaser trailer, which was released to a less than impressed response, Venom falls short of its ultimate potential.

'Sons of Anarchy' Season 2
If you've read my previous review of Sons of Anarchy season 1 you'll know that I have become a reluctant fan of the series. I didn't want to watch season 1 because I watched the premier multiple times trying to get into the series. I finally got forced to watch through the full season and I was thankful for it.

'Quincy'
Quincy is a biographical documentary on the life of Quincy Jones. Before watching this documentary I thought I knew a lot about Quincy Jones. This film gave me better insight into the lives that he affected and his influence not only to American culture and the black community but to the world. It ended up being a heartwarming and inspiring film that I think everyone should try to check out.
