'A Simple Favor' - Movie Vs Book
By now if you haven't seen the advertisements for A Simple Favor (the movie) then you've probably been hiding out at the cabin with Emily. But a little less known fact (at least until it was recently shown on movie posters) is that the movie is based on the book of the same title by Darcy Bell.

Spoiler Review—‘Robin Hood’
It has been a total of eight years since the last attempt to bring a successful Robin Hood franchise to the screen. Although it is not as frequent as the the likes of the Spider-Man and Batman franchises, there is a valid reason for that in which I will discuss here. As usual, this is a spoiler review so look away, do not read on, read at your own peril, *insert warning here*.

My Review of 'I Feel Pretty'
Amy Schumer is a controversial comedian and it seems like people are split on her. I don’t watch a lot of her movies, but I did enjoy one of her older movies called Trainwreck. It was enjoyable and that’s all I ask for in a movie. There wasn’t much to watch on Netflix and the movie I Feel Pretty popped up. I was tired of sifting through the different movies that I haven’t watched yet so I checked it out and I thought it was an enjoyable movie.

'Love and Other Things I'm Bad At'— Book Review
If you’ve been reading my other reviews, I bet you can guess that I like the young adult romance novels, and this may come as a surprise, but this IS another one. Catherine Clark has written many young adult novels and I have read most of them, so whenever I hear she has a new one being published, I quickly log onto Amazon and buy it. Which may be why I like this one since this novel is actually a compilation. There are two books in one! What could be better?

How to Film Love
There are stories that just grab you. Stories that just hold you and keep you no matter what you’re thinking or feeling. I’m not the sort of person who can experience stories in their entirety very easily. ADD runs in my family, and I often have trouble watching a film or reading a book, both things I love to do, without playing on my phone or sewing or doing something with my hands. I’m not good at staying engaged. Especially during movies, I don’t often find films where I’m not checking how much I have left in the middle of it, even during first time viewing at the cinema.

My Review of 'Annihilation'
I saw Annihilation on Netflix and remembered the trailer for it way back when. I was always interested but never pushed myself to go watch it. Now I’m kind of kicking myself for not seeing it sooner. It is a pretty well made movie with tons of beautiful artistic pieces that I only wished I got to see on the big screen. Plus, the big sound would have really got me into the atmosphere of the movie. I have a semi decent set up, but I couldn’t turn up the volume and just let myself get immersed like I could in the theatre.

My Review of 'Creed II'
I have to start off this review by saying that I’ve been a fan of the Rocky series for many years now. My perspective for this review will be biased. Luckily, my girlfriend agreed to come watch this movie with me despite the fact that she had no knowledge of any of the prior films. The only thing that she recognized was that Sylvester Stallone played the boxer named Rocky.

'Confessions of a Not It Girl'—Book Review
I’ve read some other novels by Kantor, but none compared to Confessions of a Not It Girl in my opinion. Originally published in 2004, the story still holds relevance for today’s teenage generations of being true to yourself, falling in love for the first time, and so many other problems faced by high schoolers every day. Jan (the "not it" girl) and Rebecca (the "it" girl) are best friends at their school in Brooklyn. Both girls have normal lives and are ready to enjoy their senior year of high school. "Privilege aside, Jan's life is pretty normal for a teenage girl. She's studiously avoiding French class, and college applications while trying to avoid looking like an idiot in front of her newest (possibly biggest) crush, a classmate/neighbor named Josh” (Miss Print’s Amazon Review).

'The Thanksgiving Play'
The Thanksgiving Play at Playwrights Horizon starts out well enough. The four actors in the play sing a Thanksgiving song and are pretty campy about it. In fact, the four actors are all pretty good in this show. After the opening scene before the curtain lifts on what is a good classroom set, (Wilson Chin) the audience is ready for a great show. This, however, never came to fruition.
