Banshees of Inisherin
This weekend was filled with more movies and as the weeks have progressed I come away with liking, truly enjoying about 1 in every 5 films we see. The last couple of weekends have been largely filled with disappointing movies that felt incomplete and like the filmmakers had no idea what their themes really were or how to execute them. I feel like I’ve been watching vague ideas of movies but never the real thing. This weekend there was finally a break in the disappointment.

A Look At Imperialism: The Kardashian-Jenner's
I am in a graduate class called Narration of Empire, where we contemplate aspects of empire and talk about an event/conflict/or period of time through the lens of empire. Throughout my studies I have been fascinated at the relationship between popular culture and politics. Who better than the Kardashian-Jenner family to deliciously unpack the impact of cultural imperialism.

Enola Holmes 2 Movie Review
Based on the young adult stories by Nancy Springer, Enola Holmes was a delightful surprise in 2020, delivering a smartly written and well directed mystery for the whole family. Two years on and the follow-up creates another charming tale with only a couple of stumbles.

Relationships in House of the Dragon
As we know my favorite part of media is watching character driven stories, and the biggest part of what makes character driven stories interesting is their relationships. We’ve already talked about some of the most important character relationships in House of the Dragon but I think it's important to explore all of the relationships as it gives us as the audience a clearer picture as to who these characters are and what they are capable of.

Relationships in Rings of Power
As we may have realized, the relationships in shows are what keep me personally interested. Relationships are core to character development as well as story movement. Relationships are integral to storytelling and are the most important part of media. So here is the analysis of the non-parental relationships in Rings of Power.

Parental Relationships in Rings of Power
Similarly to how I feel about the relationships in House of the dragon, I wanted to take a closer look at the relationships in Rings of Power. As we know character driven stories are the heart of all storytelling, so it's my goal to analyze these interactions and speculate wildly at what we might see in the future. We are seeing a lot of relationships forge that we see come to fruition in Lord of the Rings and I will continue to explore the growth of these relationships as the series goes on.

The Singing Hills Cycle
When I joined the Storygraph “Read the World” challenge in January and saw that Vietnam was on the list of countries, I thought What am I going to be able to find that’s interesting from Vietnam? I had never heard of a single author from Vietnam, and I was scared that even when I did find something I wouldn’t be able to understand or fully appreciate it because it would have so many cultural details that were vastly different from my own culture that I wouldn’t be able to understand or appreciate the story fully. But then on the Vietnam page of the challenge I saw The Empress of Salt and Fortune by Nghi Vo. The first book in The Singing Hills Cycle, this is a story about a monk in a fantasy version of Vietnam who travels around collecting stories, and it was tagged LGBTQ, so I decided to give it a go. The Singing Hills Cycle by Nghi Vo is now my comfort series. Each of the books is around the 120 page mark, so it’s a quick read, and they can be read in any order. The setting is so queer and calming that any time I have one of those nights where everything seems to be crumbling around me, I pick it up for a reread. The final book Into The Riverlands has just been released, so here is my full series wrap-up.

Review of 'Long Live the Pumpkin Queen'
Jack and Sally are "truly meant to be" ... or are they? Sally Skellington is the official, newly-minted Pumpkin Queen after a whirlwind courtship with her true love, Jack, who Sally adores with every inch of her fabric seams—if only she could say the same for her new role as Queen of Halloween Town. Cast into the spotlight and tasked with all sorts of queenly duties, Sally can't help but wonder if all she's done is trade her captivity under Dr. Finkelstein for a different cage. But when Sally and Zero accidentally uncover a long-hidden doorway to an ancient realm called Dream Town in the forest Hinterlands, she'll unknowingly set into motion a chain of sinister events that put her future as Pumpkin Queen, and the future of Halloween Town itself, into jeopardy. Can Sally discover what it means to be true to herself and save the town she's learned to call home, or will her future turn into her worst... well, nightmare?

My Review of "Lower Decks: Season 3"
Lower Decks: Season 3 has just recently wrapped up and I have to say the same thing as last year. This series needs more episodes per season. I mean 10 half hour episodes a season is very short. You also have to pack a lot into one season when you have such a short period of time to play with. That means you can't really have any wasted episodes.
