Knock at the Cabin (2023) Movie Review
M. Night Shyamalan's fascination with the end of the world has been a hit-or-miss affair, with his films often falling short of their potential. From the absurdity of "The Happening" to the box office flop "After Earth," his attempts to explore human behavior in the face of the apocalypse have frequently fallen flat. Unfortunately, his latest offering, "Knock at the Cabin," is no exception.

The Last of Us
So we took a longish hiatus from The Last of Us because I really need to be in the mood for this show. That said they’ve chilled out on the gross stuff and really laid into the emotion crap. And as such keeps having episodes that leave me yelling at my tv. This show refuses to stop beating my heart into a sludgy substance. It is so heartbreaking, the Walking Dead could never. I of course got attached to Henry and Sam rather quickly, more than that I got attached to Ellie and Sam. Their friendship was established fast and really it was just nice to see Ellie interact with someone closer to her own age.

My Review of "Chang Can Dunk"
Chang Can Dunk is Disney Plus's latest exclusive feature length movie to be released in 2023. It has all the elements that intrigued me to watch. First of all it's a sports movie and I'm a sucker for sports movies. I thought it was a little out of the ordinary with an Asian male lead for such a movie. This had me wondering how they're going to implement this element to the story. It's a family friendly movie so of course I know I can't hold this movie to extreme standards either.

Ranking Studio Ghibli Movies
As someone who grew up on Disney I had heard of Studio Ghibli throughout my adult life but I had never seen any of the films until I met my husband. He is a huge Miyazaki fan and as such I have seen most of the Miyazaki - Studio Ghibli movies. So as someone who is new to the genre of anime I wanted to rank the Studio Ghibli movies I have seen from my most to least favorite. I also want to preface this by saying I didn't think any of these movies are bad, they are all beautiful and wonderful stories. I just clearly liked some more than others.

Fall Movie Review
The sense of danger when making isolated thrillers is crucial to success with many productions taking a simple approach. After a relatively small theatrical release in the US, Fall has arrived on Netflix; for a film of small size and scale, it makes a solid impression on the viewer.

What Makes a Movie Bad?
So I clearly do a lot of media analysis, but before I start doing in depth video essays I think it's important to share how these pieces of media are being judged. What exactly makes a movie or tv show bad? There are many objective and subjective criteria; yes you can objectively analyze art and I genuinely don’t care who says otherwise. If a movie or it's elements are racist, homophobic, sexist or otherwise bigoted it's objectively bad. Period, no discussion, that point of analysis isn’t up for debate.
