Blood Is Thicker Than Water: Could The DCEU's 'Aquaman' Be Related To Poseidon?. Top Story - January 2018.
Last year brought us the second live-action appearance of the King from (literally) down under, Aquaman. His existence in the DCEU has already been praised by fans, furthering the rapturous acclaim with his "surf board" riding scene in Justice League. Well, even with his brief appearances, we still don't know much about the hero, and could possibly have to wait for his solo film just like Wonder Woman.

Back to the Jungle? Three Possible Directions for Another 'Jumanji' Sequel
When a sequel to the 1995 hit comedy Jumanji was first announced in August, 2015, fans were unimpressed. Many believed that the timing of the announcement was in poor taste, coming close to the first anniversary of the death of Robin Williams, the much loved star of the original film. Though people began to warm to the idea somewhat, they became sceptical once more when it was revealed that the new Jumanji would be an old video game, rather than the board game seen in the first film.

Movie Review: 'The Commuter'
The Commuter is yet another desperately silly effort from Liam Neeson. Once again teaming with director Jaume Collet Serra, Neeson is once again playing an action hero in a desperate situation in which life and death hang in the balance. At this point, a trip to the grocery store could be the premise for a Neeson action hero; it’s not as if he needs anything more than a place, a gun and an elaborate idiot plot for his Mad Libs take on the action genre.

Movie Review: 'Paddington 2'
Before the comments come, I can already hear you: "lighten up!" "It’s just a kids movie!" "All the other critics like it!: I can hear you saying these things before you type them as a response to this review; there is no need for you to repeat them. I’m speaking of my hatred for Paddington 2 and what I already know will be the response to that hatred. Paddington 2 has received across the board raves and yet I hated almost every second of it.

The Black Panther
Marvel Studios Phase Three continues February 16 as comic book fans will be hitting theaters to view the next installment into their forever expanding cinematic universe. As the sixteenth overall movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the six movie within Phase Three specifically, Black Panther will be our introduction into the illustrious African nation of Wakanda and all its lore. This is a major plot point in the overall continuity that Marvel Studios has literally spent years establishing, all leading up to the crux of the decade long build up to Avengers: Infinity War.

Imperial Dreams and Getting Lost in the Netflix Shuffle
Netflix, the DVD service turned streaming giant, has evolved and changed with the times. The company has stepped beyond its humble beginnings to become a significant player in the entertainment world. A huge part of the success of Netflix is the continued development of original content. From House of Cards to the Marvel series, Netflix has carved out a measure of success that rivals and, in some ways, surpasses the traditional cable channels. The company has become so large that it has entered the cultural lexicon via the famous phrase “Netflix and chill.” Recently, an opportunity to get some extended quality “Netflix and chill” time presented itself, and I gladly obliged.

Best Anime Films of All Time
While some don't want to sit around watching subtitles flash consistently across the screen, anime makes for some of the greatest stories ever put on screen. Even more simply deplore the art of it in the first place. More accurately, anime movies just aren't appreciated in the same capacity as they may have been when we were kids. It's an acquired taste, one that is often ignored or under-appreciated (unless you're a kid, since a common misunderstanding lies in the fact that they're cartoons). Let's be clear, anime movies are not cartoons.

Lady Bird won most of the big awards from the Iowa Film Critics Association. The Iowa Film Critics, of which I am a voting member, made the announcement on Monday, following voting that began in late December. Greta Gerwig’s extraordinary directorial debut was honored with four awards while Willem Dafoe, Call Me By Your Name, and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri each earned an award.

The End Is Nigh: 8 Post-Apocalyptic Films You Need to See
Although it wasn't as widely reported as the famed 2012 phenomenon, another new "end of the world" prediction recently stated that Earth would cease to exist (or something to that effect) on September 23, 2017. Conspiracy theorist David Meade claimed that the solar eclipse was only the beginning of the end, meaning that we would all face perdition 23 days after that event. He also stated that our planet would collide with a large planetary object called Niburu and wipe out over a billion people. However, he has now conveniently moved the date to October 15.
