The Road Leading Up to 'Avengers: Infinity War'
I saw something on Twitter telling me that if I started watching one MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) movie a week, starting January, I would be done in time for Avengers: Infinity War. Now, I have been doing this but I decided to go through all the films, having a look back at what makes them great and what doesn't.

10 Best Comedies on Amazon Prime
Comedy is easily the all-time best genre in the world of film. Everyone loves to laugh, who doesn't? These types of movies pulls you away from reality and gets you laughing your stress out. And there are so many awesome comedy films out there that you haven't seen yet. It's also pretty impossible to pick a favorite when there are new and funnier comedies releasing every year. If you ask me, spending nights on the weekend eating junk food and watching comedy films are definitely my kind of nights.

Ranking the Movies of 2018: Week 8
Nearly 50 movies in 2018 for me. That’s actually less than usual for me in a two month period but let’s not dig too deeply into my sad, lonely life in front of a screen of some sort. This is, after all, a modern project intended to catalog a year in my life as a movie critic. It’s also about how singularly silly it is to rank and compare movies. Each film is subjective and to say that one movie is better than another movie is rather ridiculous in most cases.

Power Can Be Held in the Smallest of Things: Celebrating the Ridiculous Attention to Detail in the 'Lord of the Rings' Franchise
Whether it be the hobbits or the ring itself, the Lord of the Rings trilogy is essentially a lesson on how small things can often make a huge difference. A rather fitting notion, considering that it also perfectly sums up Tolkien's phenomenon on the whole. Simply put, he didn't just set out to tell a story, but rather to create a world so detailed, so vibrant, that it really feels more like reading up on actual history than make-believe. Therefore, if one was ever going to successfully bring these stories onto silver screen, there was only one way for going about it: by being more obsessed with detail than Gollum with his precious.

The Importance of 'Coco'
On Thanksgiving weekend 2017, Disney-Pixar released its nineteenth feature film. The film is called Coco, and unlike most its predecessors where talking toys, monsters, or fish are the central characters, this film revolves around human characters set in a small Mexican village. At the center of the story is Miguel (Anthony Gonzalez), a twelve year old who dreams of being a musician and emulating his favorite singer/guitarist Ernesto De La Cruz (Benjamin Bratt). Based on an incident that happened generations ago, Miguel is forbidden to play music by his family, particularly by his abuelita, or grandmother, Elena (Renee Victor) who pressures him to join the family business of shoe-making. On Dia De Los Muertos (or Day Of The Dead) Miguel is transported between the living world and the land of the dead, and finds himself on a journey that will eventually reunite him with his ancestors and the hero that he idolizes.
