A Filmmaker's Review: "Elvis Presley: The Last 24 Hours" (2004)
Elvis Presley is one of my heroes. My entire family is obsessed with him. My father owns a statue of him, a record collection, various pieces of merchandise. Elvis practically lives in my house constantly and was always there when I was growing up. Since I can remember, he has been a constant shining light of music in my life - as were people like Michael Jackson, Prince, Lionel Richie and others of this kind I listened to from a very early age. Elvis was always the obsession of the entire family though. I remember going to my aunt's house on his birthday and there was just Elvis music on all day, all the merchandise was out (including tupperware, cutlery and plates etc.) There was a massive cape-like shroud with his face on it and obviously, there were pictures my aunt took when she went to Graceland. My parents' wedding song was "Love Me Tender" and yes, I had my own disc collection of Elvis songs.

A Filmmaker's Review: "Barry Lyndon" (1975)
And so, I was watching one of the most masterful period dramas out there last night. Before I go through why I really enjoyed this film, I'd like to give a big thank you to everyone who has been reading along or just jumped into these reviews. You are appreciated, loved and very welcome to contact me on Instagram (@anniethebritindian) at any time. Now, on with this review. Let's first and foremost talk about my history with this film. It's a long and drawn out one so please, sit tight and get a drink or something.

A Filmmaker's Review: "The Gift" (2015)
So, I recently watched this film off a recommendation from someone online and they basically stated that it was a fun thriller to sit through. In reality, it wasn't really fun at all. Instead it was a bit of a mess, you didn't really get invested in any of the characters - you just got a bit of a blur and there was no really story. I didn't like the way it was presented in that the woman was being 'pulled around' if you will. If someone I loved did that to me, I would just get up and walk out on him and never come back - it didn't seem realistic for her to stay. I don't really have a history with this film as I had never actually heard of it, the actors or the director in my life - and so, I must have managed to completely miss it. It's not like me to miss things but I think this one just slipped away from me.

Movie Review: 'The Two Popes' is Netflix's Overlooked Triumph
There have been only three Popes in my lifetime and only one of them has been slightly relevant to my life. Pope Francis, the modern Pope, has held me in thrall on a few occasions, specifically during his first days on Twitter when he was charming the world. And then, in the documentary about his time as Pope and how he was dragging the Catholic church out of the dark ages with one modern touch after another.

Will 'WW84' Get the Eighties Right?
The crown jewel of the Amazon is set to return to the silver screen, and I can't wait. The trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 - aka WW84 - dropped at CCXP in São Paulo, Brazil a few days ago, and according to YouTube, has already notched 14 million views, and deservedly so. From the thumping beat of New Order's "Blue Monday" to the flashes of neon and the then-cool fashions, anyone who was a teen or preteen in the 1980s will feel wave after wave of nostalgia.

A Filmmaker's Review: 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' (2017)
Let's have a look at my own personal history with this great film and then, we'll have a look at why I rated it in this particular way. That seems totally fair. I found out about this movie when it came out and well, I was very interested in it right from the beginning and I watched it all the way through close to after it was released on DVD. For some reason, I had heard about the marketing campaign etc. that happened in America, but as I live in England, there wasn't really a big deal made about it here. I didn't hear much buzz about it but, after the Oscars happened, I was even more so interested in it - being because the film itself got a number of Oscars that I thought were incredibly well deserved.

My Thoughts on the 'Ghostbusters Afterlife' Trailer
The new trailer for Ghostbusters Afterlife has just dropped and it looks pretty interesting. The first I thing I noticed is the small town setting that the film is set in, considering that the first two films were set in New York City. I also noticed the new characters which include a mom and her two kids. One of which is Finn Wolfhard from Stranger Things (most of you know that by now). Also, the other sibling is McKenna Grace who plays his sister.

A Filmmaker's Review: 'The Wicker Man' (1973)
Directed by Robin Hardy, this British Classic makes a great excuse film for a rainy day and is possibly one of the greatest films created quintessentially by the British. It is an amazing film with all the trimmings of a horror/thriller cult classic.

Everything You Need to Know About the New Characters in the 'Black Widow' Trailer

Hotly Anticipated 'Black Widow' to Hit Theatres May 2020
I, like many other fans of the #MarvelCinematicUniverse, am looking forward to the release of Black Widow in May, 2020. Part of it is I have a hard time believing just how far Scarlett Johansson has come. She's now 35, but I can distinctly remember when she graced movie screens in The Horse Whisperer in 1998 at the age of around 14 or 15. At the time, I just figured she was a child actress who would probably slide into obscurity as many others have done. Thankfully, I was wrong, and she's become one of the strongest female lead characters in a franchise to date.
