Seeing in Technicolor w/ "Moonlight"
Coming just off the back of Pride month, and an entire four years later, I figured it was the perfect time to re-watch probably one of the most beautiful and painful films I’ve ever seen. An Academy Award winner for Best Picture in 2016, this film had me shook to my core and drowning in tears. But damn was it worth it! And although some of you may not get as emotional in films as I definitely do, Moonlight will still have you thinking about the ripples and consequences your actions create in life. Like waves in the ocean, or tears running down a face. Trust me when I say, this film provides a perspective you didn’t know you needed in your life.

Movie Review: 'Trigger Point'
The new action movie Trigger Point gets off to a very strange start from the very first production logo. The film comes under the Chicken Soup for the Soul production banner, This is literally the company that has branded Chicken Soup for the Soul for over a decade and not a snarky boutique production that lifted the brand name. This is bizarre because Trigger Point is a B-movie action flick about assassins doing assassinations.

Promising Young Women
Female filmmakers seem to be on the rise. Some of the better films of 2020 have been made by women, as evidenced in this year's award season, among them Emerald Fennell's Promising Young Woman. These films show a clarity of vision, a fresh perspective, and turn the social paradigm on its head. But where have all these female auteurs been? This past year in lockdown, I set out to research the history of women filmmakers. If you're jonesing for more films by female filmmakers like I was, below are a few films I discovered from promising young women of the past. This is by no means a comprehensive list, just a few highlights of the many films I found, and doesn't include more well-known films that I have already seen (ex: Tiny Furniture, Hurt Locker, The Piano). Also, just to note, there were many films made by women at the early stages of film's history (we're talking 1890's-1930's), but many of them are difficult to find or no longer available.

Movie Review: 'Giants Being Lonely'
It's been quite a journey for the makers of Giants Being Lonely. The film opened to much praise at the Venice Film Festival in 2019 but was unable to garner distribution. More than a year later, Director Guillermo Del Toro saw the movie and was blown away by it. With his help, Writer-Director Grear Patterson and Executive Producer Olmo Schnabel, son of the famous director Julian Schnabel, found confidence in their ending and a champion who believed and has since leant his strength the film's release.

There is a Kingdom for Aquaman
Zack Snyder's Justice League has a unique array of music. One scene with Aquaman features an Icelandic lullaby. Lois Lane has a moment while Nick Cave's motif of death and love plays in the background. Meanwhile, Aquaman has another scene accompanied by music and with another tune from Nick Cave. The song in question is "There is a Kingdom" by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.
