What Makes The Shining So Endearing?
There are not many ways to describe why The Shining is a stunning masterpiece of the art of cinema. It is a film where even knowing the entire plot simply won't do it justice; you must experience the story for yourself to really understand its hypnotic quality. Such is the case that when one attempts to talk about the film they inevitably end up talking more about what's behind the imagery than the story itself.

Movie Review: 'Uncharted' Tom Holland is a Bona Fide Action Hero
Uncharted stars Tom Holland as Nathan Drake and more and more I am enjoying Holland as a screen presence. Having grown weary of the quip machine action heroes that have dominated the last two decades of Hollywood action, Holland’s more cerebral and achingly emotional action hero feels refreshing. Holland’s Nathan Drake can be funny but he’s first and foremost a pro with a good head on his shoulders. He’s not flippant and doesn’t just go for the joke when one is available. Holland has an unforced charisma that makes an otherwise dreary exercise in the action genre, more entertaining than I was expecting.

Alien 3 vs. Moonfall
Space movies, or science fiction movies, are a big part of pop culture and have yielded billions in revenue. The astounding changes in special effects technologies over the last thirty years is nothing but impressive. However, the quality in any given year may be less than desirable. So far, in 2022, there’s been one major movie released involving space. What space movie was released thirty years ago, in 1992? How does it compare to today?

Eternals vs GotG 2
So I watched and was disappointed by the Eternals and to be quite honest all I was thinking about through a good portion of that movie was “Guardians of the galaxy did this so much better” because like it or not we’ve already been introduced to the concept of eternals and we’ve already seen a family like dynamic when they all have different motivations and moral compasses. We’ve already seen relationships within a family like a unit develop and play out and we’ve seen it sone so much better then the underdeveloped mess that the eternals gave us.

Eternals
My first thoughts when this movie was announced were “that's ambitious” the Eternals have a fairly rich comic book history and I knew they could never tackle that in the MCU so I was at the very least, interested in how they were going to make this work. Since its release I've only heard 2 opinions of this film, it's amazing OR it sucks with really no in between, but I never take public opinion very well because to be honest the masses have very little media literacy…that said my Stark boys were cast and I love them both soooo here we are.

Movie Review: 'Dog' Starring Channing Tatum
Dog stars Channing Tatum Biggs, a former Army Ranger dealing with the aftermath of a brain injury. The injury suffered in the field has left Biggs struggling, drinking too much, and working at a sandwich shop. Biggs has a chance to get back into the field as a security contractor but not until his commanding officer signs off. To get his commanding officer to give him a recommendation, Biggs agrees to do a favor.

Death On The Nile Movie Review
Detective tales have been widely enjoyed in the literary scene; this quickly led to big-screen adaptations. When it came to updating the Agatha Christie series for a modern audience, Kenneth Branagh has taken on both acting and directing duties. Death On The Nile, the long-delayed second entry, has arrived and it ends up feeling weaker than the first.

My Review of "Last Night in Soho"
Last Night in Soho came out with some fanfare in 2021. Unfortunately not a ton of people saw it. Still I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into with this one. Critics adored it but the trailers didn't give much about the story. That's kind of a good thing in my books. It's a double edge sword when it comes to the popularity of comic book movies. Generally people don't discuss these type of movies so you're goin in with a blank slate. Then again these movies need more attention.

Movie Review: 'Pursuit' John Cusack Taking Cues from Bruce Willis in No Effort Action Flick
While Bruce Willis gets most of the attention for his late career paycheck cheapies, John Cusack has been toiling away on the same easy paycheck circuit. Cusack’s recent resume may not be as stunningly inept and lazy as Willis’s output, but it is nearly as disreputable. As evidence I present to you the scuzzy new action thriller, Pursuit. The film stars the ever less reputable Emile Hirsch and someone named Jake Manley with Cusack seemingly allowing a film crew to capture scenes of him puttering around his house to include in the movie.
