Is Reading For Chumps?
"Everybody’s talking at once in a hypnotic, hyper din: the cocktail party from hell.” Maureen Dowd “Reading is 4 chumps, brotha,” Mew16 wrote on Reddit, an opinion shared by many commenting—and not just brothas. As one woman explained, “Maybe it was being forced to read for 12 years, and the whole thing associated with shitty teachers and shitty people and shitty memories.”

New Mutants
As always before a comic book movies come out I would like to take a look at the background of the New Mutants and how their stories might translate to the big screen. The New Mutants is a group of young people with powers who are too young to be considered X-Men, but who are old enough to start learning how to contain, control and harness their powers. Under the guidance of Professor X, young heroes Karma, Moonstar, Cannonball, Sunspot and Wolfsbane became the core team. Though there have been additions to the team over the years the core original members mostly stayed the same.

'Spoiler' and 'Spoiler Alert' Etiquette
Some people say something is a spoiler if they find out information as soon after a movie or television show ends. Others scream "spoiler" weeks later. So, what is a spoiler and when does information stop being a spoiler?

Is Yaoi better as an Anime or in the original format?
I want to make clear I’m a woman who is heterosexual, who happens to love Yaoi. Yaoi is a genre of boy-love in japan romantic relationship with only males. You can find Yaoi in mostly Manga or visual novels and now in anime But what I’ve noticed when a Yaoi that was originally a manga, book, or a visual novel game gets turned into an anime it doesn’t have the same results in excitement. A good example, a novel called ‘Ai no Kusabi’ (the space between us), was a popular novel in the late 1980s. That in the 1990s got turned into anime; two episodes were produced, but because of the lack of funding and not many fans liked the show because it was not following the original story. There was plenty of nudity, sex, and violence, but not enough to stop the cancellation. There are audiobooks and novels of ‘Ai no Kusabi’ that are still selling, so when the anime of ‘Ai no Kusabi’ was re-release but with a different design of the characters and the screenplay was written by the original author herself Rieko Yoshihara. It only produced four episodes and got dubbed in English but not so much nudity or sex like from the one from the late ’90s, the show got canceled again for the same reason.

Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy
I like to call this article “the obvious Harley Quinn movie we should be getting but DC doesn’t have the common sense or the balls”... DC who has been on shaky ground since the conclusion of the Dark Knight series has had very few victories and even more hastily thrown together flops. Among the greatest of their achievements is Wonder Woman, their highest grossing movie since the previously noted conclusion, AND one of the highest grossing origin films of all time. Yet it seems even with that DC has little faith in their women considering the entire lack of marketing for Birds of Prey, a movie I wanted so badly to be excited for, but when I learned that they were not including Poison Ivy (which is the only way tying the Birds of Prey to Harley Quinn would have made the least bit of sense) I started to lose all hope. One of the most well known DC team-ups, one of the most well known DC relationships, THE most stable, consistent and loving DC relationship, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.

Oscars 2020: The Highlights
The opening performance by Janelle Monáe Can we just talk about how awesome this was? Janelle Monáe started all 'A Wonderful Day in the Neighbourhood' and then exploded into her own song, with her backing dancers wearing outfits from some of the nominated films and 'Us' by Jordan Peele.

What you never knew about Scooby Doo
As the new movie in the proposed Hanna-Barbera universe is coming out this summer. I've been re-visiting the shows, both new and old, as well as the reinvented movies that changed the story. I've been doing some digging for what I never knew about my favorite childhood show.

Cosplay Conventions Should Be All About Fun and Games.
As a long time cosplayer, I have found it extremely aggravating when people want to cause trouble and drama at conventions. I have seen way too much of it and quite frankly, I am sick of it. My friends and I are in the agreement that these conventions should be our escape from reality.
