Comicon?
Does anyone really comprehend what a convention is without actually going to one? NOPE. Not possible. I've been going to conventions for years now and are more excited to go now than ever. It's the best experience for those that like to shop, walk, and gather with others of like minds. This is something that I started going to years ago and fell in love with and guess what? I'm not a big comic book person. You don't have to know all about comics to understand these people. They are everyone and everything that I always loved about people because they express their differences out loud and there is nothing better than that. First, I will start with the gamers. Those that love videogames and have been playing them for years like myself there is a place for you! Down the many halls are creators, editors, and people that designed their own videogames. They are just sitting in their little booth waiting for you to walk by so they can start talking to you and usually hand you a free copy of their new comic book series or regular book series. This is excitement that I haven't felt since the pre-pandemic days....

A Celebration of All Things Geeky
I’m a fucking geek. Thoroughly. Unrepentantly. Fanatically. I love a variety of geeky things from Star Wars to Lord of the Rings, from comic books to comic conventions. I love super hero movies, both live-action and animated. My book shelves are filled with science fiction and fantasy, both classic and contemporary. And while I don’t dress up myself, I admire and appreciate the artistry behind good cosplay.

We Went To Our First Comic Con Since COVID. This Is What It Was Like. Top Story - October 2021.
One of the things that we have missed the most during the lockdown is attending conventions. The first comic con I ever attended was New York Comic Con in 2013, so it was fitting that my first one since COVID would be NYCC 2021. Culture Slate's Clarice Taylor and myself swung by the convention along a cross country road trip from Boston to Los Angeles. This is what the experience was like.

Could San Diego Comic-Con Possibly Happen in 2021?
2020 was a unique year. The COVID-19 outbreak threw a wrench in everyone’s plans, especially the summer 2020 convention schedule. San Diego Comic-Con moved its programming online and became Comic-Con@Home. Exhibitors, artists, and vendors worked to move their storefronts online. Panels were free for everyone to stream online. In October 2020, when hopefuls would huddle around their computers for the opportunity to buy the coveted badges, Comic-Con International announced that there would be no badge sales for San Diego Comic-Con 2021. The only attendees would be those who had transferred their badge from 2020 to 2021.
