A Filmmaker's Guide to Adaptation: Dashiell Hammett
Dashiell Hammett died on the 10th of January, 1961 - but by then he had amassed a great amount of noir literature written with characters we love like Sam Spade, Nick and Nora etc. He was a great writer and ever since his birth on the 27th of May, 1894 in Maryland, USA - he has been a continuous name mentioned when we talk about the great film noir. After he basically created hard-boiled crime fiction, many thought it would be great to adapt his works into films.

A Filmmaker's Guide to the Best Performances: Elvis Presley
On the 8th of January, 1935, Elvis Presley was born in Tupelo, Mississippi. He wasn't rich, not even close to rich - probably not even close to average earning. Be that as it may, he was found - they made the records and he became known simply as "The King". Unfortunately, in 1977 - Elvis Presley succumbed to his overworking schedule and accidentally died from taking some horrid pills. But, from when he was making the records to this day and beyond - there are still people who listen to Elvis Presley, old and young.

Well, He Did Warn You
I’m not sure what I enjoyed more. The monologue, or the whining and crying about it the next day? I’m talking, of course, about British comedian and actor Ricky Gervais’ savaging of the smug artistes, settled in front of their vegan dinners to receive their annual pats on the back from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. This is Ricky’s fifth time hosting the Golden Globes, so you’d think the glitterati would be used to his lashing wit by now.

5 True Facts About Dolph Lundgren
Dolph Lundgren is famous for playing a wide variety of roles since his acting career began in the mid-1980s. While sometimes ridiculed for the sheer number of direct-to-DVD movies he's starred in, his career saw a major resurgence with the films The Expendables and its sequel The Expendables 2. The character Lundgren plays in these films, Gunnar Jensen, really takes center stage in the sequel where he displays his vast knowledge of physics, his hand-to-hand combat prowess, advanced understanding of chemistry, and even talks about his time as a bodyguard for a beautiful, famous actress. Fortunately for Lundgren, he was just playing himself at that point.

The Staying Power Of Kevin Hart
Kevin Hart is probably one of the most resilient actor-comedians out there today. While Hart's brand of humor has never really been something I've been heavily into, likely because I have never been one to sit and watch comedies terribly often, I do appreciate the actor's ability to laugh at himself, first and foremost. He's frequently poking fun, mostly at his short stature, and I appreciate that about him. He's done several standup tours, starting in 2009, and has been in more than a few feature films, including Jumanji: The Next Level.

Here's Looking At You Kid
Ingrid Bergman is one of the many Old Hollywood actresses that I love and whose movies I could watch again and again. The interesting thing about Bergman is that she was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on August 29, 1915, and died of cancer in London, England, on August 29, 1982, which was her 67th birthday. Yes, you read that right, her birth and death dates are the same. I don't think I have previously known or heard of anybody who died on their birthday, but I know there must be some people at least. This legendary actress is best known for her incredible role as Ilsa Lund in the classic movie "Casablanca." The actress created quite a scandal in 1950 when she gave birth to the son of Italian director Roberto Rossellini, not having been married to him.

A Filmmaker's Review: Autopsy S1, E1 - "The Last Hours of Michael Jackson." (2014)
"The Last Hours of Michael Jackson" is the first episode of the first season of the show 'autopsy' - a show about the causes of death that have befell some of the world's most prominent stars. Normally, the causes are shrouded in mystery as was the case for actor Heath Ledger and the biggest name in music, Elvis Presley. Singers like Whitney Houston, actors and actresses such as Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Marilyn Monroe have all had their own episode. But it all began one day in 2014, when Michael Jackson's autopsy was aired on television almost 5 years after he died. The King of Pop's death began not in 2009 on that fateful day in June, but according to 'autopsy' it began in the 80s - when Michael Jackson suffered serious burns which led to a dependance on pain killers for the rest of his life.
