I was shocked in ways I could not describe when I'd heard about Chadwick Boseman's passing on August 28 at just 43 years old. This was different than someone you sort of expect is going to die soon from significant health issues or even old age. There were no outward signs that the man was ill. In fact, it was just the opposite: as King T'Challa in the #Marvel Cinematic Universe, #ChadwickBoseman was the absolute picture of health. He looked fit and he was young. He more than held his own onscreen in a series of films that could only be described as rigorous for those performing in them.

Like most people who didn't have heavy exposure to the world of drag prior to the advent of RuPaul's Drag Race, I had no clue who ChiChi DeVayne was prior to my 11-year-old introducing the show to me back a few years ago. When we finally hit Season 8 of the Emmy-winning competition series, #ChiChiDeVayne knocked me back on my heels. She didn't strike me as being as refined as some of her other #DragRace colleagues, such as #NaomiSmalls, #CourtneyAct, #RoxxxyAndrews or even #Katya, and she was a bit abrasive at first. That was what made every moment when ChiChi was on screen totally captivating, though.

Jake from State Farm all you need to know.
Every year there are memorable television commercials that air during the Super Bowl. In 2011 during the big game, a really cute ad aired for the State Farm Insurance company. A wife catches her husband on the phone at 3:00 AM and when she asks who he is talking to he replies “ Jake from State Farm". The unbelieving spouse takes the phone and asks Jake what is wearing. When he replied “Khaki’s the wife says that ‘she’ sounds hideous, assuming Jake is a woman trying to disguise her voice. The man in the role of Jake, the State Farm representative initially was Jake Stone an actual employee of State Farm in Normal Illinois. He won the role after answering a casting call.

Such as his film Equal Standard, an NYPD Detective is shot by one of his own, benevolent brothers in uniform. Communities are ignited - to march for justice. Gangs put their differences aside - for a united fight, an equal opportunity. “That people not be judged by the color of their skin but for the content of their character.” The movement and unity impacts city society and leads to a Blue Wall intervention within the Police force. White cops lust for change and act on it - by flushing out racism. Not an easy fight. In the end, what was considered impossible, became possible.
