Why I Can No Longer Support Blaire White
I am not transgender, I am not non-binary and I am not a member of the LGBTQ+ group. But there is one thing I am sure about. I love them. I'm friends with them. I know them and I have grown up with them. They are brilliant people. They are scientists and artists, they are actors, singers and chemists, they are librarians, parents, friends and family members. They are all over the world. They exist in so many different forms that I feel like there are always new people to meet and learn about. When they create things - it really cleanses my soul. Why? You know that I have always been a huge supporter of how we need as many different types of invention, art and expression as possible in order to get the full experience of difference as humans. My point is, they are human beings and I support the way they express themselves because they way I have seen it - self-expression is a beautiful thing. Self-expression of the LGBTQ+ community has often been oppressed and the fact that it is becoming more normalised and there are happier members of that community makes me have faith in the world again. Don't get me wrong, there is still a long way to go to normalise their identities entirely but, it is much better than it used to be.

Bryant Gumbel Obsession
Gumbel began his affiliation with Today as the program's chief sports reporter contributing twice-weekly features to the program, including a regular series entitled "Sportsman of the Week," featuring up-and-coming athletes. In June 1981, NBC announced that Tom Brokaw would depart Today to anchor the NBC Nightly News with Roger Mudd beginning in the spring of 1982. The search for Brokaw's replacement was on, and the initial candidates were all NBC News correspondents, including John Palmer, Chris Wallace, Bob Kur, Bob Jamieson, and Jessica Savitch. The candidates auditioned for Brokaw's job throughout the summer of 1981 when he was on vacation. Gumbel became a candidate for the job just by chance when he served as a last-minute substitute for Today co-anchor Jane Pauley in August 1981. He so impressed executive producer Steve Friedman and other NBC executives that he quickly became a top contender for the Today anchor position.

Karl Pilkington became known from his time on "The Ricky Gervais Show" in early 2000s. Started in 2001, the radio show consisted of Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, and Karl Pilkington. Despite the name, the show centered mainly on Karl. The show aired for a few years and gained a large increase in following when it was released as a podcast in the later part of 2005. It was so popular, that it was in the 2007 Guinness World Record for the most downloaded podcast in the world. The show was then converted to an animated series in 2010.
