Hello, all and happy March and Women’s History Month! This article comes a little late so in honor of last month we will be re-featuring our anime that have black leads involved within the storyline and adding fresh shows to the mix. Can You Hear Me?
These past twelve months have been a topsy-turvy ride for a lot of the country. We've had to change the way we live our lives from the way we shop down to the way we get gas at the gas station. We've adopted new ways to stay apart but stay connected. Zoom, Discord, Whatsapp, Facebook live are now regular ways for the young, the old and the disabled to communicate. Gaming, concerts, art shows, family get-togethers are now performed virtually. These new changes are visible in the less crowded parking lots, the lines to get into smaller stores, the marked distance lines on store floors and pavement.

Anime Equals Part One
This list came to life on its own when someone new to anime asked me if there was anime out there where girls weren’t drawn with their tits hanging out. Blunt way to say it, but it’s true, a majority of anime doesn’t reflect women in a realistic or functional way. More often than not the anime girl is a large-breasted, clumsy, curvaceous wisp of a character that is made to shine a light on the shonen male lead. You can find this trope in shows like Bleach, Naruto or High School of The Dead and in countless other anime.

Disabilities in the Bedroom
People always imagine the disabled as soft, delicate flowers that are easily breakable. I’ve survived a lot. Sometimes, they’re right. Our joints creak, we have seizures, we walk with assistance but for all the pain we endure there can still be another side to that pain. There can still be pleasure ascribed to these suffering nerve endings and my disease has somehow heightened that sensation for me.

I have a phone game. It’s a run-of-the-mill run a farm type of game. Your character is an elderly person living with regret, they want a chance to return to the simple life. In the game, a magical butterfly-winged fairy appears to turn back the hands of time and allow for you to make changes to the choices you’ve made. She returns you to your grandfather’s land, where you must now cultivate produce, livestock, and more from a derelict farm.

Growing up I never dated. I’d like to say that my lack of dating comes from my disease but it doesn’t, not entirely. Let me explain. In Chewing Gum, the miniseries on Netflix, Tracy, a 24-year-old virgin is on a quest for sex. She’s lived her life in a strict Christian household, growing up not knowing basic terms or pickups for casual sex. As she seeks to gain more knowledge, she fumbles, hard. Watching her you cringe because you know she’s really trying her best. I was like Tracy but more extreme. I was single until I was 25.
