Laughter is the best medicine.We hear this saying all the time.The science behind it isn't exact,but I do believe that laughing can be cleansing.Several people have made had made a living making people laugh.The comedy world is filled with amazing talent.People like Kevin Hart, George Lopez, and Sheryl Underwood have made comedy their craft.In my opinion one person is at the front of the pack and has become a famous face in the entertainment world. The comedian and host Steve Harvey.

Steve Harvey was born on January 17, 1957 in Welch, West Virginia.After a family move he began growing up in Cleveland, Ohio. Growing up Steve's dream was to be on TV.No one believed he could do it.The only person that had faith in him was his father.Steve often mentions that his father was his biggest supporter.

Steve's journey on to the screen did not come easy.Before he got into comedy he had several jobs in different fields.His last job was selling insurance. When he started doing comedy he was homeless for 3 years.He lived in his car when he wasn't doing gigs.His mother was a Sunday School teacher so God was always in his life.While he was homeless his relationship with God became his most important relationship.Steve talks often about his faith.He often says that everything he has is because of God.

Through hard work and faith Steve's career gained momentum and he became the host of It's Showtime At The Apollo. He was host of the show for eight years.He held the position for longer than any previous host.He then starred on the network TV show The Steve Harvey Show.The show ran from 1996-2002

In 1997 Steve continued with stand up performing on the Kings Of Comedy Tour.He performed alongside comedians D.L. Hughley,Cedric The Entertainer,and the late Bernie Mac. The tour became the highest grossing comedy tour in history, grossing $18 million its first year and $19 million its second.

In September of 2010 Harvey became the host of Family Feud earning the show an increase of ratings.He has surpassed every previous Feud host to date in length of consecutive tenures.Steve is also the host of Celebrity Family Feud.These projects have earned him an impressive collection of awards.He has won:

At the age of 64 Steve is still very active in the entertainment world.He is the host of The Steve Harvey Morning Show during the week.He has been doing the show since 2000.He also continues to host Family Feud and Celebrity Family Feud.

Steve Harvey is an inspiration to me simply because he makes me smile. America is going through a tough time right now. Coronavirus the plagues country and our way of living.Being able to smile and laugh in times like these is important.Even if all you can manage is a simple smile.That smile will make each day a little easier.Steve Harvey may not be as important as other people throughout history. He's still an inspiration to me.
