Disney recently released The Acolyte on their streaming platform, Disney Plus, and the reviews on the show were mixed, leaving fans yearning for more. With many TV shows in the works, audiences are looking forward to only a few like Ahsoka. Disney originally released Ahsoka on August 22nd, 2023, and since then, fans have wanted more from the installment, and they will get exactly that soon. Here is everything you need to know about Ahsoka season 2 from Disney.

Season One

Ahsoka season one originally premiered on August 22nd, 2023, on Disney Plus and was created by Dave Feloni. Ahsoka followed the story of former Jedi Ahsoka Tano as she investigated an impending threat to a defenseless galaxy. The series concluded with eight total episodes, with the overall reaction being generally positive. Out of all recent Disney+ Star Wars releases, Ahsoka has to rank as one of the highest rated by fans in recent times.

On IMDb, the series has a 7.5/10 with 121 thousand votes. To put that score’s importance into perspective, you can look at other releases like The Acolyte, which has accrued a 4.1/10 rating with the exact number of voters. Ahsoka has also won one prime-time Emmy and garnered a total of 27 nominations. This has made fans speculate why there hasn’t been a second season of their more popular shows. That question was answered recently by Lucasfilms, putting audiences at ease.

Production of Season 2

Lucasfilm has confirmed Ahsoka’s season 2 development with creator Dave Filoni, along with other exciting news like the announcement of The Mandalorian and Grogu. However, there is some bad news that came along with the announcement; it was revealed earlier this year at DragonCon that the series of Ahsoka will not film until later in the year 2025. Most likely in the summer, and the film won’t even air until after the Mandalorian and Grogu movie releases in 2026.

The scheduling of the film’s productions and releases means that Ahsoka won’t even begin filming until two years after the original release. The elongated gaps between releases may pull away from the total attention the show has as a whole. Disney has to figure out a solution to their scheduled releases to keep fans happy and their content relevant.

Final Thoughts

Recently, Disney has been pulling back from television series releases and pulling their focus more toward movies. This switch in focus has left a gap in content for popular shows like Ahsoka. All the fans are excited to get another season of Ahsoka; it is very likely to not be worth the 3-year wait that Disney has it scheduled for. Unfortunately, there is no good solution to this problem because speeding up production would only ruin the quality of the television show, making fans unhappy anyway.

Fans will anticipate many announcements moving forward; however, there is a lot of content I would need to release to keep fans excited for two to three years. Stay up to date with everything Disney, movies, entertainment, celebrities, and more at Total Apex Entertainment.
