Power Rangers Post-Credits Scene Teases the Green Ranger for Sequel
This almost certainly guarantees that Tommy, the Green Ranger, will show up in the sequel.
Power Rangers premiered in theaters and everyone is talking about it, especially the post-credits scene at the end of the movie.
The scene opens in detention with the #PowerRangers teens back in it again. They are announcing roll when we hear a familiar name being called: Tommy Oliver. For those unfamiliar, Tommy Oliver is the name of the original Green Ranger in Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. This almost certainly guarantees that Tommy, the #GreenRanger will show up in the sequel to this year's reboot.
Will the Green Ranger Be Introduced as an Antagonist Like the MMPR'Version?

When the Green Ranger was first introduced in MMPR, he was under Rita Repulsa's control. During that time, he fought the Rangers on several occasions. Eventually, the Green Ranger was freed of Rita's control and became joined the Rangers' team.
Those same events could influence the cinematic universe being established around the 2017 Power Rangers movie. If that is the case, a direct conflict between the Power Rangers and an evil Green Ranger could be an interesting direction for the sequel.

Rather than having the Rangers face off with another one-shot villain, the Green Ranger would present them with a challenge unlike other baddies. Not only would he be difficult to beat in open combat, but the Rangers also have to consider helping the Green Ranger. After all, they can't just kill him, as he'll presumably be a teenager like them. This will present an ethical dilemma the Rangers are faced with when confronted by their new foe.
Who'll Play the New Green Ranger?
Something else we need to consider is who'll be cast as Green Ranger. Seeing as how the teaser at the end of Power Rangers didn't feature an actual person, they likely still need to cast him. Or, they could equally be trying to keep their casting decision under wraps. Regardless, it'll be interesting to see which actor is picked to play the new version of the Green Ranger and possibly become the antagonist of the next Power Rangers movie.
