My Review of "The Goldbergs: Season 10"
It's the final season of a very fun TV series. This season definitely had its ups and downs. They made the right decision.

The Goldbergs: Season 10 is the final season of this very fun TV series. I have been a fan of this show from the very first season and I'm sad to see it go. Though, I do believe this is the right season to end this wonderful TV show. This season is a little bit of a mess but they make up for some of it in other aspects.
It all starts off very abruptly. It seems as though the father Murray has passed away. Admittedly, Murray wasn't really in that many episodes in the previous season but his character kind of grounded the whole family's wild antics. Without Murray this show kind of went off the rails a little. We would have all these crazy antics from all of the house members and no one to sit them down to tell them what's right and wrong.
This brought up an even wackier more chaotic season with some pretty zany scenarios. Without someone to keep them in check it just seemed like this chaos would have no end. Fortunately they are half hour episodes so there are some weird realizations from the principle characters to prevent themselves from going too off the wall. Still it feels kind of weird that there's no one to keep anyone in check anymore. The season definitely feels a little too off track at times.
With the loss of Murray there's also a lot of talk about Beverly taking up a new love interest and it seems really quick for her to be doing this. Seeing as she and Murray have been together for decades you'd think she'd be a little more hesitant to this. Then again you have to consider the amount of episodes within this season. I had to forgive them for this but it really feels so off that they emphasized this in a lot of episodes.
A lot of the side stories are now pushed to the forefront in this season. The repetitive stories of the tensions between Erica and Geoff being new parents. They give Adam a new love interest which felt a little more adult this time around. Barry and his love interest Joanne have a few little twists but nothing crazy exciting. Even the small stories with the usual antics with the JPT are starting to feel a little stale.
I did like how they started focusing a little more on Adam again like they originally did in this show. His relationship with Carmen was a little breathe of fresh air for the show. It was a much more mature relationship than he's used to. It made me feel like they spent more than a decade in the 80s. Though it was based in the 80s there was a bit of modernity to the way they portrayed this relationship.
It's too bad that they didn't interact more of the relationships with one another to build the character's relationships with one another rather than in a joking manner. I could see a lot of potential in seeing how they could develop up on each other but then again this was going to be the final season. There wasn't going to be a lot of time to play around with these stories.
There were a lot of call backs to previous seasons and some nice homages as well. This show kind of picked itself back closer to the end of the season but the very beginning was pretty rough.
Overall, I still enjoyed this season but it felt so off in the very beginning. Losing Murray of course was going to be big. Although he didn't have a huge role in the show he did have a pretty big part. The show never really started to feel like itself again until closer to the end. I have to give this final season a 6 out of 10. Even though I'm not overly thrilled about this final season I have still had a great time with this show. Definitely worth visiting the series if you haven't seen it already.
