Mayfair Witches Season 3: Everything We Know
Will It Happen?

In Mayfair Witches, AMC has extended its adaptation of Anne Rice's Immortal Universe; however, will the supernatural thriller soon receive a third season renewal? The show, which Michelle Ashford and Esta Spalding developed for television, is based on Rices' Lives of the Mayfair Witches trilogy of novels. It follows Rowan Mayfair (Alexandra Daddario) as she inherits her family's wealth and learns of their witchcraft heritage. Rowan is the most recent in a long line of Mayfair women who must attempt to stop Lasher (Jack Huston), a malevolent spirit that has been associated with the Mayfair family for centuries.
Beginning in 2022 with Interview with the Vampire, AMC has been expanding Anne Rice's Immortal Universe with Mayfair Witches and the forthcoming Talamasca series. Everything is connected by the covert group Talamasca, and the Mayfair Witches books are connected to the previously mentioned vampire series. Season 2 explores the plot of Rice's book Lasher, while season 1 concluded with Lasher's evil schemes materializing through Rowan's child. Season 3 of Mayfair Witches has not yet been confirmed, but it is reasonable to assume that AMC will renew the show given the ongoing development of the Immortal Universe.
Season 3 of Mayfair Witches is not confirmed.
The fact that AMC hasn't renewed the show for a third season yet isn't shocking given how recently the second season was released. Although it wasn't as successful as its predecessor, Interview with the Vampire, Mayfair Witches didn't exactly blow the world apart. Before renewing the show for a second season, the network waited about a month after the premiere, and it's very likely that this pattern will continue. AMC most likely made the strategic decision to postpone the show, and they have most likely already decided on season 3.
By waiting, AMC can ensure that the show is attracting the target audience before renewing it for a third season. But the greater Immortal Universe itself is another element that will probably affect the show's comeback. Because of its significance to the overall plot, Mayfair Witches season 3 may be renewed despite viewership statistics, even though each show in any extended franchise is expected to stand alone. Mayfair Witches season 3 might be required to finish the story, as Interview with the Vampire season 3 and the Talamasca spinoff are approaching.

Details of the Mayfair Witches Season 3 Cast
Given how things have changed from the book series, it's hard to predict who will make a comeback in season three of Mayfair Witches. Although there were many newcomers in the sophomore season, it's unclear how many of the cast from season 1 will return in season 3. Many of the cast from season 1 did not make it to season 2. A few things are certain, though, such as the reappearance of Alexandra Daddario as Rowan, the strong witch who is now associated with Lasher as his mother and lover.
In relation to the malevolent spirit, Jack Huston is expected to return to portray the ravenous being, who is supposedly the antagonist of this chapter of the Immortal Universe. With the upcoming Talamasca spinoff, Tongayi Chirisa is expected to return as Ciprien, a member of Talamasca, and he might even play a bigger role in the universe. It's unclear if Harry Hamlin will return for season 3 as Cortland, the patriarch of the Mayfair family.
Details of the third season of Mayfair Witches
Season 3 of Mayfair Witches (and the rest of AMC's Immortal Universe, for that matter) will continue the show's tradition of drastically altering the original material. Season 3 will probably include elements of Rice's Lasher and Taltos, the second and third books in the Mayfair Witches trilogy, in contrast to a more conventional adaptation that would take inspiration from a single book. While creating many new story points, Season 2 is also incorporating elements of Lasher.
This means that the third season will use a lot of the content from book two and the entirety of book three. Michael, the book character who was combined with Ciprien, is given more attention in Taltos, which may help connect it to the Talamasca spinoff. However, until the entire scope of season 2's story is known, it is practically impossible to predict what will happen in season 3. Although Mayfair Witches is likely to deviate from the books, it won't be clear how much until the season 2 finale.
