What Is the Appeal of Pickle Rick In Season 3 of 'Rick and Morty'?
Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty has become a full-blown phenomenon that has seeped into mainstream culture. You know you’re big when people are complaining that the fan base has grown to become insufferable and ironic hipsters are trying to move away from Rick and Morty because they liked it before it was cool, but can’t because the show is too good to ignore. One of the most meme-worthy moments from the season came from Pickle Rick, and of course Pickle Rick was everywhere.

Can We Ever Numb the Pain Caused by These Awful Horror Remakes?
While we could easily start out by discussing which modern horror remakes were surprisingly good, the truth is the bad sometimes outweighs the good. Unfortunately for us, the bad outshines the good most of the time with remakes in general. This seems to be more prevalent, especially when it comes to the modern horror genre, so why not discuss it?

Why I Love Writing Fanfiction
I think a lot of people talk down about fanfiction. They say it's not really fiction and consider it the lowest form of entertainment. A lot of people out there still don't know what fanfiction is and the ones that do don't talk about it so much. It's often considered a guilty pleasure or something that is sinful. Why is that? Is it because the first thing that comes to mind when somebody says fanfiction is either an Ash Ketchum harem or Harry Potter coming out of the closet or have heard about the legend of infamous fics as My Immortal or Agony In Pink. The latter inspired the banning of all NC-17 rated fics on Fanfiction.net, but many still make it through.

Although the last #Twilight movie premiered almost five years ago, the franchise still has legions of fans interested in the cast as well as the potential for a reboot. Five films weren't enough for us hardcore fans, and learning something new about one of the movies, a cast member, or even the status of an artifact from the set excites us because it's like a new connection to the movies and the fandom.

Book Review: 'Death's Mistress'
Dyslexic artist and carpenter Terry Goodkind burst onto the fantasy scene in 1994 with his debut novel, Wizard's First Rule, and immediately set himself at the forefront of the burgeoning American fantasy scene. Since then, his yearly additions to his Sword of Truth series have solidified his right to be remembered alongside David Eddings, Robert Jordan, Tad Williams, and Terry Brooks as one of the big names in high fantasy. Goodkind proved time and again that he could run with fantasy's "big dogs," with his ambitious worldbuilding and seemingly unstoppable work ethic (George Martin could learn a thing or two) making up for his less-than-florid prose.

Why the Hallmark Channel's Highest-Rated Historical Drama, 'When Calls the Heart,' Hits All the Right Marks
Hallmark Channel is well-known for its family-friendly movies that offer heartfelt drama, swoon-worthy romance, and happy endings. It was the network that aired all of the movies based on Janette Oke's Love Comes Softly series, so it was no surprise when the network opted to take on an original series based upon yet another one of the prolific author's books—When Calls The Heart.

Best Anime Art Books
Anime is one of those geeky hobbies that gets a seriously bad rap — and admittedly, there's often reason why people look down at it. The fandoms can get very cringey; there's often a lot of unwarranted misogyny among fans. And to a point, it's also because there are way too many low-quality series out there.

A few days ago, I was lucky enough to attend a private screening of Gary Oldman's new film Darkest Hour with a panel beforehand with Gary himself, and the amazing makeup team that transformed him into Churchill (Event hosted by Makeup Artist Magazine).

4 TV Character Deaths that Made Viewers Say Goodbye Forever
Television shows live and die by their ratings — and so, unfortunately, can their characters. While TV deaths often happen for understandable reasons (a storyline demands it, or an actor wants to leave a series), occasionally they seem like shock value only to boost tune-in. But if a beloved character is written out of a series, fans may respond by fleeing like rats off a sinking ship.

Movie Review: 'Murder on the Orient Express'
Hercule Poirot (Kenneth Branagh) is the most famous detective in the world. It is 1935 and Poirot is leaving Israel, having solved a crime that likely prevented a religious genocide. His work is that important, apparently. Poirot hopes for some rest and relaxation but unfortunately, he’s been called back to London on a matter of grave importance. The fastest way to travel in 1934 is the train known as the Orient Express, a bullet train from Istanbul all the way to Paris.
