Oscar Predictions 2018
With the nominations having been announced, the Oscar race has officially began. On March 4, the best and brightest of Hollywood will step onto the red carpet in all their finery and endure the relentless lights and cameras just to witness who will take home those coveted golden statues. With The Shape of Water leading the pack this year with 13 nominations, followed by Dunkirk with 8 and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri with 7, it’s sure to be a night full of deserving winners, and a few unexpected surprises. Maybe? But with only one month to go, here are my predictions for who will win in the top categories at the 90th Annual Academy Awards.

Oscars Countdown: 'The Shape of Water'
Sometimes, the logic is simple. If it looks, sounds, and smells like a Best Picture nominee, it probably is one. And The Shape of Water has Best Picture written all over it. It’s not one of the more pretentious cases of “Oscar Bait,” which is always appreciated, but it is Oscar Bait, nonetheless. The film’s award results have been sporadic and, regardless of its success, I can’t say I enjoyed it all that much. For a concept that lends itself to some very different storytelling, the way the second half plays out is surprisingly straightforward, and I don’t think people watch The Shape of Water preparing to see something conventional. With that said, it is a wildly impressive movie that’s still a medium delight to any fans of this wonderful director.

'Kingsman: The Golden Circle' Movie Review
It's not as good as Secret Service, but it's far from the stereotypical bad sequel. It picks up not long after where Secret Service ends. If you read the comics, you would know that this story is about the villain named Poppy who wants to rid the world of illegal drugs by infusing her drugs in her own production company with a virus that kills the taker quickly and very painfully with a complimentary cameo of Elton John. Poppy, while a convincing villain, couldn't hold a candle to Valentine, however.

This Is The Greatest Show! Or Is It?
"Ladies and gents, this is the moment you’ve waited for!" I, like so many eager fans of musical theatre, have been anxiously awaiting the release of Hollywood’s newest musical The Greatest Showman. The film starring Zac Efron, Zendaya, Michelle Williams, and Rebecca Ferguson is inspired by the story of American showman, politician and founder of the Barnum and Bailey Circus, P.T. Barman, played fearlessly by the great Hugh Jackman, and follows Barnum from his humble beginnings to becoming "The Greatest Showman." And even though it continues to rake in at the box office and has even earned an Academy Award nomination, it has to be said that this passion project of Hugh Jackson’s, which took over 7 years to get made, is not without its faults. So, with that being said, I have a compiled a list of 10 reasons why I both loved and hated The Great Showman.

'Paddington 2' Is the True Best Picture of 2018. Top Story - February 2018.
Anyone who has kept up with pop culture this year has probably heard a lot of buzz about The Shape of Water, Dunkirk, Lady Bird, etc., but where is the talk about Paddington 2? My 17-year-old brother, an avid movie-theatre-goer, chose to see the film that follows everyone's favorite red-hatted bear during its opening week in the U.S.

Does 'Batman v Superman' Make Sense?
On the outside, Batman v Superman is a complete mess from beginning to “MARTHA!” Now I’m not going to ever claim it’s a great movie; to be sure, it has its storytelling flaws and would certainly be better if some characters were moved around or replace, or you didn’t have a studio that deleted entire scenes that explained what the plot.
