'Get Out' and the Black Renaissance of the 2010s
Many would say that we are currently in the middle of a new black renaissance in terms of film and television. Black artists like Jordan Peele, Lena Waithe, Ryan Coogler, Issa Rae and Ava Duvernay have built platforms that have put them on the same level of consideration as white artists through films such as Get Out, Black Panther and Girls Trip, and shows such as Insecure and The Chi. They have proven that black creativity can generate just as strong numbers as white creativity, if not stronger (as seen with Black Panther). However, many might also argue that this isn’t the first black renaissance that we’ve experienced in American media. The blaxploitation era in the 70s is often considered to be the birth of African American cinema. The 1990s are also frequently mentioned as a black renaissance for television in particular, with so many iconic sitcoms produced by notable black figures in entertainment. But the black renaissance of the 2010s might be the most important black renaissance in American history.

Jerry Maguire - Review
I think that out of all the Tom Cruise films I have seen, this is my favorite performance of his. Now, as of the time that I am writing this, I haven't seen Born on the Fourth July or Magnolia yet, but here, I see Tom Cruise as an actor in a story rather than Tom Cruise going on his many adventures playing Tom Cruise. There is a moment where Jerry Maguire (the character, not the movie) is fired from a job and you see Tom Cruise dive into the Nicholas Cage realm of acting and you know what, I dug it. During the scene, Cruise plays it pretty calm in the smooth Tom Cruise kind of way, but you can tell that his character is one interruption away from losing it. For little brief moments, those little crazy moments slip out and it's great.

'Bad Times at the El Royale' A Review
Before you start, I know the subtitle to this review is shit, so before you start criticising me, go fuck yourself. Now we have that out of the way, when I first saw the trailer for Bad Times at the El Royale I was instantly intrigued. Presenting a stellar cast and a cool setting, Bad Times was a film for which I had some very high hopes, and after seeing it this Friday, I'm very glad to say that the high hopes were comfortably satisfied.

The Immortal Fury Road
As Max shared a respectful glance with Furiosa and Immortal Joe’s prized breeders before blending into the crowd and again departing for parts unknown the thought of “who killed the world?” began to come to a close. In a world that has been long forgotten from the days of technology. Where road warriors roamed the blood covered sand for supplies and water off of those dead or alive. Ferocious riders of industrial vehicles with metallic bits and fixtures constantly fixated on the ideas of salvation in the afterlife. Thousands of lost souls cheer and cry over the new ruler of the saturate supply. For what seemed like decades, killing for guzzoline was all the citizens of the Fury Road Wasteland required. From the Gastown to the Bullet Farm, from Green Place, all the way to the Citadel, Max had only known one thing, survival. It was Max’s one true instinct in the wasteland now.

'The Ferryman'
Robert Massimi. The Ferryman at the Jacobs Theatre begins with two characters leaning up against a brick wall. It is a blighted out area in Belfast, Northern Ireland. We hear helicopters and sirens faintly in the background as one sips his beer and the other watches intently. On the wall are spray painting of "We Are The People" and "BOBBY." The audience finds out in short order how ruthless the IRA is and what they will do to succeed in there efforts. No one is safe from this organization, not even the local priest nor members of this terrorist organization.

'Venom' Review
It feels like a lifetime since the announcement of a stand-alone Venom movie. With revelation after revelation of the cast, plot, and potential character appearances, Venom was released to the comic book movie world. And just like the original teaser trailer, which was released to a less than impressed response, Venom falls short of its ultimate potential.

How I've Matured in the Furry Fandom
I've always enjoyed mascots ever since I was a little kid. They always made me smile. When I was 12, I wanted a mascot. I looked around the internet, and stumbled across fur suits. I thought they were the coolest thing and I wanted one so bad! From there, I found a site called FurAffinity. It's a website that's similar to DeviantART, but for furries. There was a lot of art work, as well as pictures of fur suits. I made an account and started drawing to try and fit in. My art wasn't that great at the time.
