Jurassic World: Rebirth - A Movie Review
Jurassic World: Rebirth is an epic summer blockbuster.

Keep absolutely still - their vision is based on movement.
Jurassic World: Rebirth is a 2025 sequel to the Jurassic Park franchise. A group of brave expeditionists travels to the dinosaur land to extract DNA from three massive prehistoric creatures in a groundbreaking medical breakthrough. Meanwhile, a family is stranded on the island and fights for their survival.
Jurassic World: Rebirth is the epic summer blockbuster to experience in theaters. I thought this latest Jurassic World addition would be the typical monster chases as characters wandered around the dangerous island. While that is what Rebirth is, the film takes new liberties and provides epic dinosaur chase scenes for the audience's delight.
Rebirth erases the slate completely of the last films and introduces new characters. The film has two storylines: a dysfunctional family joined by the daughter’s aloof boyfriend and scientists on a mission.
Jurassic Park fan Scarlett Johansson joins the cast as Zora, a dream come true for her. Wicked star Jonathan Bailey not only plays Dr. Henry Loomis (I wonder where we’ve heard this name), but he also helped with the movie’s soundtrack. Credits also include Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, Ed Skrein, Bechir Sylvain, and Phillipine Velge as the scientists.
I liked the family subplot more than the scientist's arc. It humanized the film more. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, and Audrina Miranda play the family who bicker, fight for survival, and learn more about each other.
Although he could be annoying, Xavier did grow on me, like one character described him. Iacono was hilarious in his performance. Iacono conversed with the director about his approach to the role because Xavier is so different from his personality.
Jurassic World: Rebirth does its own thing. Gareth Edwards was excited to climb onboard as the film’s director, having grown up with the Jurassic Park franchise. We needed a fresh start from the repetitive storyline and characters from the previous Jurassic World movies. He even took advice from Stephen Speilberg, who directed the original Jurassic Park.
Dino terror is present in the entire film, which satisfies the audience's needs. The T Rex river chase is the best scene in the film. My heart started pumping the moment the t-rex was revealed in the grass. This scene is so suspenseful that I was nervously tapping my foot. My friend even screamed at a pretty effective jump scare!
Filmmakers did a great job with the special effects. Edwards was insistent on capturing the aesthetic of the first film. Filmmakers created new dinosaur species, like writer David Koepp’s creation of the Mutadons. If you thought Delores was adorable, so did the cast. Shooting was delayed because the cast couldn’t stop fawning over her!
The cast and crew did a lot of traveling for the film. Rebirth was filmed in several locations, including national parks in Thailand, Malta, and areas in the UK and the U.S.
I noticed familiar grounds that Rebirth copies. The beginning scene felt reminiscent of a Final Destination opening. One dinosaur resembled the iconic predator from the Alien franchise. Gareth did say that he was inspired by the xenomorph design. Another scene felt similar to Jaws, only replace sharks with dinosaurs, and swim-chasing characters.
Rebirth is a standalone dinosaur film. It’s great for what it is. Nobody in the theater was having a terrible time with this film. A lot of giggles transpired. One element Jurassic World has fondly incorporated is comedy, which is needed.
Audiences applauded Rebirth at the very end. This is the roaring summer blockbuster movie experience to witness in theaters.
