James West's life is about to take a drastic turn on General Hospital

Returns from the dead, comatose loved ones, and a shifting of his adult caregivers

Nathan's return shakes up Port Charles

General Hospital has an exciting storyline now in progress. Ryan Paevey has returned to Port Charles as Nathan West, which will shake up the Scorpio family. Nathan's wife, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is out of town in a coma, and her son James West (Gary James Fuller) will find that life as he knows it is over.

Liz Webber ( Rebecca Herbst), Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), Lucas Jones (Van Hessing), and Harrison Chase ( Josh Swickard) were the first to recognize Nathan after an auto accident. The news will soon spread and the fallout will come.

James will find his life disrupted

James has a wonderful blended family who loves him. This includes his grandmother Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner), half-sister Georgie Spinelli ( Lily Fisher), tep-grandfather Mac Scorpio (John J York), unofficial stepfather Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), and adopted uncle Cody Bell (Josh Kelly).

James is also beloved by the Quartermaine clan, but with his bio-dad returning to Port Charles, things could become contenscious. Spoilers have not revealed how Nathan will behave when he is back home. The former Detective West might have amnesia and not be able to recall his past life.

The memory of his father has been kept alive, but seeing him after he has supposedly died will be a shock. James will have no memories of his father, which might make a reunion difficult.

Nathan may not be the same

If Nathan does know who he is, he could demand that his son spend time with him, with Maxie out of the picture. This would probably drive Spinelli crazy, and Cody would not be far behind. Spinelli will be concerned about losing his "Maximista" so this should be interesting.

Previously, Nathan was a good guy, but no one knows how he will behave once he has recovered from his injuries. Perhaps he will allow his son to remain in his current situation as he reacclimates himself to life in Port Charles.

Fans wonder what role Britt Westbourne's brother played in her research project and whether or not he might be a bad guy this time around. Many questions need answering, and they all center on the research that Professor Henry Dalton (Daniel Goddard) is doing at PCU.

Monica's death may interfere

The death of Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) may delay some things coming to light, like Britt and Nathan's entire backstory. Could she and her brother have been working together?

As Port Charles mourns the beloved doctor, the storyline surrounding Monica's memorial and her family's reactions could take center stage. Erica Sleazack's character will also bring drama to Port Charles when she arrives.

Spoilers are teasing that she and Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) might end up in a battle for the QAuartermaine homes. Een so, James's reaction to his father's return should get some airtime and be pretty dramatic.

James may deal with confusion

James may be confused for a while because he was young when Nathan "died" and did not grow up knowing his father. Will he be happy to see him, and would he want his mom and dad back together?

James may cling to Spinelli, Cody, and Mac and reject his dad. His grandmother, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) will be happy that her son is alive, especially since she and Britt had a falling out. Will she also be angry with Nathan once she learns his story and turn on him?

By the time all the pieces fall into place regarding his father and his aunt, and his mother returns to Port Charles, James could be one traumatized little boy. Een with all the love and support from his blended family. Be watching for General Hospital updates as Nathan's arrival date grows near.
