If you loved Supernatural, Then you will love The Vampire Diaries/The Originals/Legacies

You're probably thinking Supernatural is completely different than The Vampire Diaries! One is about two brothers who fight monsters! The other is about two brothers who are monsters(vampires)! But wait here me out. Although that necessarily is true, it is only what you see on the surface. The show has so much more to it.

Supernatural has family love, it has romantic love and it has friendship love. In Supernatural, the show started with the Winchesters mother getting burned, leaving the dad and brothers to go on without her. They don't show them growing up right away. This happens Seasons later. They follow their journey showing Sam being a normal guy in college with a girlfriend. He was living the normal life, he had wanted since he could remember.

However he gets pulled back into hunting when his brother shows up to tell him their father is missing. This starts the 15 Season journey.

Even though, most of the show is them killing monsters, if you've seen the show, you get to see every type of emotion. From anger, sadness, hate, love and it always come down to the family they created. The extended family the brothers had aside from their own family. We see their stories go deeper than just being tough men hunting.

Now let's take a look at The Vampire Diaries. Yes it does have a slight resemblance to Twilight, but that is only in the beginning. Again this show also goes deeper than you can imagine. And again we see the story of two brothers, working together to find solutions to their everyday problems. Only difference is that they are Vampires and are more than 100yrs old. Minor detail.

The Vampire Diaries (TVD) starts out as a love story but it quickly turns into so much more. From making friends with humans, werewolves and witches, this show entangles many stories together. The official synopsis is below.

"The Vampire Diaries follows the life of Elena Gilbert, who falls in love with a centuries old vampire named Stefan Salvatore and his brother Damon Salvatore, also a vampire. They go deep into the brother's past of who they were and who they became. Same with the human friends. They show their history as well and somehow become connected to what they knew from back then.

TVD has 8 seasons and it ends well in my opinion. The 8 seasons left the stories open so that The Originals and Legacies could tell their stories. The Original had 5 seasons and Legacies has 3 seasons. If you put them together it gives you 16 Seasons of pure action, love, vampires, werewolves, and so much more.

The Originals expands on the side characters presented in TVD. Again they are heavy on family relationships, brothers and sisters working together and protecting each other at all costs.

The Originals takes the episodes in TVD and presents us with another character's point of view. So it is basically as though you see a TVD episode and it seems to have an ending but that tiny question that may have crossed your mind, The Originals will answer it.

It also has us empathize with the characters we wanted to hate on TVD. We are given their stories, history making us understand and feel bad for them. Did I mention they are all vampires, werewolves and witches? Almost everyone on The Originals is supernatural except for the few humans they bring in.

Then this leads us into Legacies. I have not seen Legacies yet but I have been told it follows everyone from The Originals and continues the story line, hence I think why it's called Legacies.

Even if you decide that The Originals and Legacies are not for you, at least try The Vampire Diaries. I don't think you will be disappointed. You will enjoy the point of view from the monsters that the Winchesters are always killing in their daily lives.
