If looks could kill, Drew would be arrested for Kai's murder on General Hospital

Is the soap setting the Congressman up to take the fall for surgery gone wrong?

Drew may not have Kai's best interests at heart.

No one trusts Drew but Kai

On General Hospital, the Ashford family is bitterly opposed to Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrip) undergoing the surgery Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) recommended. Dr. Portia Robinson Ashford (Brooke Kerr) has begged the Congressman to call off the medical procedure due it its low success rate.

Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) fears that Kai will be paralyzed after the operation that is intended to help him play football again. Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) does not trust anything Drew says and suspects he is up to no good. They all feel the Congressman desires to boost his image, but Kai believes Drew genuinely wants to help him.

Curtis has warned Kai not to be taken in by the slick-talking politician, but he has fallen under Drew's spell and does not see that he is being manipulated.

Drew has an ulterior motive

Drew has been promoting the medical procedure and the surgeon as if he were campaigning for office. It's clear he has an ulterior motive. The more the Congressman says this surgery will have Taylor back on the football field, the more Portia, Curtis, and Trina grow increasingly concerned.

Congressman Cain/Quartermaine also wants to document Kai's journey from beginning to end, which may be more about his ego than the situation of the former football player. Drew wants to come across as the knight in shining armor while making dirty deals behind the scenes.

In addition, GH fans have noticed a sinister look in Cain's eyes recently, as if he has a secret agenda with everyone. Portia and Nina Reeves discussed how whether Kai's surgery is successful or not, Drew comes out looking like a winner.

Trina is worried about Kai's surgery

Drew wins either way

If Kai's surgery is successful and he can return to playing football, the Congressman will be a hero. If the procedure is not successful or Kai is paralyzed, the women say Drew will insist that he tried but didn't promise results. Some General Hospital viewers are saying the teen's parents need to be involved, but they have not been shown on screen.

Fans have also noticed ominous music playing when the Ashfords discuss the surgery. Could General Hospital be sending subliminal messages that the operation will go wrong? This is what many on social media are saying in comments.

Will Trina experience more heartbreak

Would the writers allow Kai to die on the operating table while Trina is still grieving her first love? Trina lost Spencer Cassadine in 2024. Will she now lose Kai as well?

Also, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) has buried two boyfriends: Oscar Quartermaine (Garren Stitt) and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer). These young ladies should not be watching the men they love all die.

Will Willow ever see the light?

Drew must be stopped

Spoilers have not given details, but General Hospital viewers are aare of the three possible outcomes. The former football star could have a miracle and be back on the playing field; he could end up with a serious or permanent injury, or be paralyzed, or he could die.

Carly Spencer, Portia, and Nina all desire to take Drew down but have thus far been unsuccessful. If Kai's surgery goes wrong or he loses his life, would this cause Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen to see her lover as he really is or would she still deem him her hero?

Will Kai survive?

If looks could kill, Congressman Cain would be accused of Kai's murder. Some fans think his strange behavior and wild-looking eyes indicate that he might have a brain tumor. Whatever motivates him, Drew cannot continue causing mayhem in Port Charles.

Who or what will be his Achilles' heel has yet to be determined. Drew needs to be stopped from causing problems in Port Charles. General Hospital fans hope Kai will not be the sacrificial lamb that leads to his mentor's downfall.
