Days of Our Lives will give Bo and Hope the happy ending they deserve for the 60th Anniversary
Fans of Peter Reckell and Kristen Alfonso will enjoy what's coming for the iconic couple.

Ron Carlivati's Days epsidoes come to a close
Bo and Hope ae heading back to Salem. Before discussing the details it's worth noting that Days of Our Lives replaced head writer Ron Carlivati with Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford. No details are available about why the change occurred, but Carlivati provided the traditional statement without disclosing any information.
“It has honestly been one of the great joys of my life to be the Head Writer of Days of Our Lives for the past seven-and-a-half years,” Carlivati says. “I want to thank [Executive Producer] Ken Corday, [Co-Executive Producer] Janet Drucker and the entire cast and crew at Days for an amazing run. Thanks also to [Peacock executives] Michael Sluchan, Cherise Masukawa and everyone at Peacock for their unfailing support. To the fans, thank you for your passion.”
Cwikly and Ford share exciting news
Ford and Cwikly recently spoke with TV Insider about the upcoming 60th season episodes the return of BOPE. Days of Our Lives tapes about eight months in advance, so Carlivati's last episodes, and those from Ford and Cwikly are airing this month.
One change that has already occurred is Emily O'Brien returned as Theresa Donovan but left Salem to visit her mother, Kimberly Brady (Patsy Pease), whose cancer has returned. O'Brien will return later this year to reprise her role as Gwen Rizczech.
DOOL fans still wonder why Jen Lily was let go as Theresa. One article stated that the Days schedule conflicted with Lily raising her children. Another indicated that the soap had abruptly fired her.

Days has survived for six decades
The long-running soap began on NBC on November 8, 1965, and has been on Peacock since 2023. One of the highlights of the six-decade celebration will be the return of Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso as Bo and Hope Brady.
Bo and Hope have been deemed the most iconic super couple of all time and are beloved by DOOL viewers. Their journey began in 1983, and they have defied all odds, including death, to remain together. The new head writers believe fans of the duo deserve a better ending than what has transpired.
What will happen with Bo and Hope
Bo has been in a coma since being shot by Shawn Douglas Brady (Brandon Beamer) and missed the death of his father, Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston). There has been no closure, but now the duo is slated for a happy ending, whatever that means.
Alfonso and Reckell walked away from Days of Our Lives, saying they would not return. Fans were devastated when Bo died of a brain tumor and elated when he was revived. Qwikly and Ford did not give details, but fans can assume Bo wakes up and makes his way back to Salem. Even if this is supposed to be their happy ending, fans know they have ridden off into the sunset only to return several times.
Former cast members will return
Other former cast members are scheduled to return, and the death of John Black (Drake Hogestyn) will finally be addressed. Jack and Jennifer Devereaux (Mathew Ashford and Melissa Reeves) will be back so it will seem like old times.
"Bo/Hope’s previous exit story could not be executed as originally planned, and we felt we needed to give them — and their fans — the resolution they deserved," the writers told TV Insider.
Bo and Hope are supposed to return in a few weeks, and its possible this may be their swan song. Days of Our Lives viewers should be looking for updates as well as staying tuned to Peacock for the action in Salem.
