'Gunsmoke' orphans went on to television and movie fame
Seven boys and girls portrayed the children without parents in 'PS Murry Christmas' and they all had later success in their careers.

In 1971 there was an episode of GUNSMOKE titled "PS Murry Christmas." Jeanette Nolan was Miss Grundy the woman who ran an orphanage but was never able to allow the children to enjoy Christmas. Jack Elam portrayed the man who had volunteered at the facility and loved the children. When he complained about there not being Christmas presents he left with the seven parentless children and headed to Dodge City.
Ms, Grundy soon followed and by the end of the episode, the children were enjoying their first Christmas at the Long Branch Saloon with Matt Dillon, Kitty Russell, Festus Hagan, and the doctor. Looking at the children in those roles who would ever have suspected at the time that these seven young actors would all continue to have varying levels of success with their future careers?
