‘General Hospital’ needs Emily Wilson to return

Emily Wilson began portraying Ellie Trout on GENERAL HOSPITAL early in 2012. She and Maxie were rivals for Spinelli's love and eventually, Damian chose the more stable Ellie and they married. The couple left Port Charles taking Spinelli's daughter Georgie, with them in December 2013 when they moved to Portland, Oregon. Viewers will recall that Maxi was deemed unfit to care for her child, and lost custody. She actually had to have supervised visits with her firstborn. Spinelli, Ellie, and Georgie returned to Port Charles for a few days later in May of that year.

Damian returned with his daughter on February 13, 2015, and the child spent time with her mother. Ellie did not come back to Port Charles until April 14, 2015. Together the couple made their last appearance on the soap on May 6, of that year. Ellie and Georgie showed up again on December 24, 2015, but only briefly. Bradford Anderson who portrays Spinelli is on a recurring basis on GENERAL HOSPITAL at this present time. Fans enjoy seeing him but never know if he is going to stick around.

During this lastes stint on GENERAL HOSPITAL both Damian and Maxie have mentioned that Ellie is caring for James and Georgie but Mrs. Spinelli has yet to be seen. It was stated some time back that Spinelli and his wife have moved back to Port Charles from Portland but Ellie has yet to be shown. She previously worked in the hospital lab but there has been no mention of her being rehired. GENERAL HOSPITAL needs to bring Emily Wilson back onto the canvas as Spinelli's wife and have her interact with other characters.

For some reason, the ABC soap seems to enjoy having cast members with invisible partners, Felix Dubois was dating someone named Danny who was never once shown on screen and Mac Scorpio went an entire year talking about Felicia without her being in any scenes with him. It's not clear how long Spinelli will stick around this time and he might be gone after Cyrus and Peter are dealt with. Every now and again when he is front and center it would be nice to see Ellie with him.

At some point the COVID restrictions will be lifted to the point where young children can be on hand on GENERAL HOSPITAL again. It would be normal to see Ellie caring for James and Georgie and even giving them back to their mother. The ABC soap has been going through changes for close to a year now. The characters Lulu, Julian, Dev, and Dustin are no longer around while Roger Howarth had a break for several months and now has returned as someone named Austin.

Nurse Chloe was brought onboard to assist Peter in kidnapping Maxie and probably will not be around much longer. Lenny, Phyllis, and Elijah were added to the cast when Sonny ended up in Nixon Falls but there is no guarantee they will stick around once he regains his memory and returns to Port Charles. In the midst of these changes and as time has gone by Emily Wilson has remained pretty busy as an actress.

She was in the film THE SECRET LIFE OF DORKS in 2014 and in 2017 she had a role in the movie BROTHERED UP. She was also in the television shows CASTLE, THE NEWSROOM, TRIP TANK, THE HERO EFFECT, and RYAN HANSON SOLVES CRIMES ON TELEVISION. If Damian remains active in Port Charles the writers really should consider bringing his wife Ellie Spinelli on screen with him.
