Why so many unsolved murders in Port Charles?

General Hospital viewers are discussing the increasing number of murders in Port Charles that the PCPD has left unsolved for at least six years. Fans are calling PC's finest the Keystone Cops and wonder what the writers are thinking.

Why has Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zampraga), Harrison Chase ( Josh Swickard), and Mac Scorpio (John J York) not been capable of doing their jobs. They spend plenty of time harassing potential suspects and arresting a few but their track record of convicting criminals is pretty bad.

Cassandra, Julian and Jagger

In November 2019, Valentin Cassadine ( James Patrick Stuart) blew up a boat with Cassadine Pierce (Jessica Tuck) onboard. He was never charged with the crime and went on with his life.

Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) shot and killed Julian Jerome (William deVry) in December 2020, but was never brought to justice. Julian's children Sam McCall (Kelly Monac) and Lucas Jones (Van Hanis) and Julian's sister Ava Jerome (Maura West) did nothing to bring his killer to justice.

Sonny also murdered Jagger Cates ( Adam J Harrington) in September 2024, and there was no official investigation. Everyone moved forward and the Port Charles Police Department forgot about the FBI agent.

Joss and Cyrus Renault

Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) shot and killed Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) in February 2025, and no one from the PCPD is actively attempting to find out why Cyrus disappeared.

His brother Martin Grey (Michael E Knight) and sister Laura Collins (Genie Francis) have moved on with their lives and not given their deceased sibling a second thought.

Valentin recently suggested to Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) that Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) may have led Joss down a path that led to her murdering Cyrus and now having involvement with the WSB. How likely is it that Carly will confront her daughter or that anyone else will figure out why Renault disappeared?

Judge Eva Herring and Drew Cain

Jenz Sidwell is responsible for the killing of Judge Eva Heran (Tessa Auberjonois), and Port Charles's finest seem to have forgotten about her. The murder of a sitting judge should be a priority but all anyone in Port Charles is talking about now is the return of Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Nathan West (Ryan Paevey).

Now we have the shooting of Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), and some GH viewers say they doubt the guilty party will be brought to justiceThese and other crimes have been swept under the rug and are growing cold. J. 

ADA Justine Turner (Naznene Contractor) is now involved in the circus surrounding the attempted murder of the Congressman. Some fans of the ABC soap say they wonder if whoever shot Drew twice in the back will be arrested and prosecuted.

Will there be justice for any of the victims?

The writers left five murders unsolved, and viewers wonder why. Unfortunately, that question may never be answered. The good citizens of Port Charles might never find out that living among their family and friends are murders.

Time may go by and none of these murder victims may ever receive justice. Perhaps with Cyrus's' death being the last that at some point Joss will come clean. She would be risking all so that probably will never happen unless Carly and Valentin take down Jack and Joss confesses.
