'General Hospital' fans say the show is repeating Shiloh mistake with Cyrus

Once again fans are disgruntled as Port Charles is being taken over by an unsavory character.

Sometimes you have to wonder if Frank Valenti and his team of General Hospital writers are locked in an alternate universe. At a time when ratings are down and the coronavirus has caused so much damage, you would think they would come up with plots that the viewers enjoy. Instead, they recycle plots that fans have expressed they do not like as if the second and third time around things will change. General Hospital lovers are tired of baby swaps, ELQ takeovers, and evil doers running amuck. Fans were begging for the storyline with Shiloh Archer to come to an end and now are doing the same with Cyrus Renaut.

Those who enjoy the ABC daytime drama are expressing their views on various social media platforms but the powers that be are not listening. The ink is barely dry on the decision to give Wiley to Michael and now Brooke Lynn will be pulling a fast one on Valentin by pretending that Maxie's baby is her own. General Hospital viewers want Sonny to remember who he is and return to Port Charles and they also desire Cyrus to be long gone. Jeff Kober is a wonderful actor but fans do not like how he dominates every episode, even when he is not in it, just like Shiloh did.

Shiloh was running the cult he named Dawn of Day and had interactions with Kristina Corinthos Davis, Brad Cooper, Willow Tate, and Sam McCall. This drew in the family and friends of these individuals and soon all of Port Charles seemed to have some type of connection to this psycho. The same thing is taking place with Cyrus and fans want him to pay for his crimes and disappear.

Cyrus had a past with Jordan Ashford and Marcus Taggert and later it was revealed that he is the half brother of Martin Gray and Laura Collins. Renault is the head of the board of directors at General Hospital and fired Monica Quartermaine and Bobbie Spencer. He has people working for him in Pentonville prison and is actively trying to take out Jason Morgan. Cyrus is flooding Port Charles with synthetic drugs which caused Sasha to have a heart attack and a 17 year old teen to die.

Brit Westbourne is working with Jason Morgan to try to stop both Cyrus and her brother Peter August. Laura as major and Jordan who is the police commissioner are going out of their way to try to keep Renault in check. Brando Corbin and Sasha working on their own plan to see that the drug lord is put behind bars. Nikolas made a deal with him to protect Alexis while she is in Pentonville and even his half-brother Martin is looking for ways to tone down his sibling's bad behavior.

So far, just like Shiloh, Cyrus is remaining one step ahead of everyone, and all plans to stop him have failed thus far. On Friday, Laura got an idea from Martin that she is considering might just work. She is going to put her feelings aside and allow herself to spend some quality time with her brother. He has been trying since he came to Port Charles to impress his halfsister but she has blown him off at every turn.

Spoilers indicate that Nikolas and Ava are about to host a family gathering at Wyndemere and that things will go horribly wrong. Nikolas brokered a deal with Renault to return Florence Gray back to her son's care in exchange for protection for Alexis in jail. It's likely that his newly found uncle could be on the guest list and if he is things can only go downhill.

General Hospital viewers are crying out for Cyrus to fade into the woodwork and not take up so much time onscreen or in the heads of other characters. Shiloh stuck around for a year but fans are hoping against hope that Renault will not be around that long.
