Culkin Could Be Connected To A Season 1 Fan Favorite

A well-liked kid actress from the 1990s has joined the cast of Fallout season 2. After its April 2024 debut, Fallout season 1, which is based on the popular video game series from Bethesda Game Studios, received overwhelmingly positive reviews from both critics and viewers. Over 65 million people watched it in its first 16 days on Prime Video, making it the second most-watched movie ever on the streaming service. Only eight days after the premiere of Fallout, plans for season two were formally approved, and filming is scheduled to start in November.

According to Deadline, Prime Video has cast former child star Macaulay Culkin in a recurring role, adding to the positive anticipation around the revival of the popular show. According to the rumor, Culkin will be portraying a "crazy genius-type character," however Prime Video has not yet commented on the casting or provided further details. Culkin has already voiced a character in episode 1 of the animated series The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy, thus this latest casting marks his second appearance on Prime Video.

The Significance of Macaulay Culkin's Casting in Fallout Season 2

Culkin, who is arguably best known for playing Kevin McCallister in the first two Home Alone films, rose to prominence as one of the most well-known child stars of the early 1990s. Even though he would later take a hiatus from acting after Ritchie Rich in 1994, he eventually made a comeback to the spotlight in the early 2000s through a string of minor supporting parts, indie movies, and voice acting. He most recently became a member of the main cast of American Horror Story: Double Feature in 2021, a part for which he received a great deal of praise.

Having previously portrayed Baby Billy Freeman's estranged son, it is hoped that this upcoming on-screen collaboration would offer ample opportunity to further explore their distinct on-screen chemistry.

Culkin has established himself as a skilled and seasoned actor, and his inclusion in the Fallout season 2 ensemble will probably further increase interest in the show's inevitable comeback. Culkin's already established comedic abilities should blend in perfectly with characters like Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, and his co-star Walton Goggins from Righteous Gemstones in a series that is already full of endearingly quirky and unique characters. Having previously portrayed Baby Billy Freeman's estranged son, it is hoped that this upcoming on-screen collaboration would offer ample opportunity to further explore their distinct on-screen chemistry.

Who We Think Culkin Could Play in Fallout Season Two

Other than being described as an eccentric genius, not much else is known about Culkin's new Fallout character at this time. Nonetheless, that ambiguous description can potentially link him to Dr. Siggi Wilzig, played by Michael Emerson. Although Emerson's character was killed during Fallout season 1 and the majority of the season's plot revolved around his severed head, it's likely that flashbacks will bring his character back in season 2.

Culkin might take up the position of one of Emerson's fellow scientists, because a large portion of Wilzig's time spent conducting research for the Enclave remains unclear. Furthermore, aside from Wilzig's contributions to cold fusion, the arrival of yet another scientist may also allude to the possibility of further, potentially revolutionary secrets. However, unless much more specific information about Culkin's new character in Fallout season 2 is made public, this type of speculation is essentially just hearsay at this point.
